Totally normal! My Neice did this for quite a while. Pediatricians had no concerns. She developed wicked calf muscles and leg strength as a result. If you give her opportunities to stand holding onto something, she will most likely eventually flatten her feet down. I wouldn't be concerned about it until she's much older, as many kids do this. If, however, she is still constantly doing this, not walking by 15+ month, and demonstrating other concerning things, then ask your doctor. Sounds like she's just being an 8 month old baby though. :)

My son is a year old and started standing this week and just now he starting to lay his feet flat when he tries to cruise. I think it is normal.

Just watch that she doesn't continue to do it all the time as she learns to walk and later. My older son was a tip toer and he almost had to have surgery because of it. Kids who tiptoe all the time can end up with shortened tendons at the back of their ankle. We were lucky and it was caught in time so we were able to correct it with corrective insoles and high top shoes.
