Anyone else have an issue with getting nauseous while they pump or breastfeed? I had a c-section two weeks ago, and I've noticed that whenever I pump or breastfeed, I seem to feel sick to the stomach. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so... does anyone know what will make it better or why it happens?

Hey my baby's 9 months old and I have been getting nausea since he was 2 months old. The hormone which is released is Oxytocin. I get really sick , it feels like when I was preggo and I don't feel sick while I'm breastfeeding but inbetween .

Felicia is right. Oh for the life of me I know this but I cant think of what its called right now. Its a hormone that is released in your brain when let-down happens. I can't remember whether the let-down causes the hormone or the hormone causes the let-down, I think its the latter.

The hormone has different affects on everyone. I have read several times that the hormone is supposed to make us feel relaxed so that we enjoy feeding - but I think a man came up with that idea!

I still get sudden waves/rushes of that hormone almost every time I feed, I can feel it coming now. Luckily it doesn't make me feel sick, it makes me feel very very tired like I can't keep my eyes open and dizzy (I cant be standing when I express). I hate it! Every time it happens I think I wont miss this part of breast feeding! My baby is 10 months. I have been told that apparently most people dont still get massive rushes of it like I do after the first couple of months, apparently I am different - dont know if this is true.

It sucks and I dont know of anything you can do about. Just know that its coming and be ready to lean back somewhere comfortable when it hits. Hopefully someone else has a better suggestion for you. :)

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

This might sound silly but it's hormones. There's a certain hormone that is released when you breastfeed that cn make you nausea and the thing that I found that helped me the most is to suck on a piece of candy.
