i have a 12 week old female puppy who is the sweetest little thing. but since my baby dropped last week (im 36weeks) my little girl has started chewing her back legs raw, she wont eat unless we are there sitting with her petting her, she has been biting my husband harder then usal when playing and licks me all of the time and has diarrhea. she still plays and loves on us and sleeps with us (tho she has moved from sleeping by my husband to sleeping between us). we thought she was ill but after taking her to the vet he said she is just anxious, most likely becuase she can feel a change a comming. i dont want her stressing out so much but i dont know how to fix it. we dont want to give her pills or anything like that. can anyone help me help my little twitch calm down a little bit so she is healthy?

my best advice (which given the circumstances would be rather difficult): calm yourself

Animals pick up on our own emotions. Ever notice that if you're steaming angry about something totally unrelated, your pet won't usually come on over to snuggle? Same thing with nervousness/anxiety. You're (understandably) dealing with some anxiousness regarding the upcoming labor & delivery of your precious baby. She picks up on that & figures a change is coming. You pick up on her nervousness & worry about her health. She picks up on your worrying and gets more wound up. . . and so on and so forth. She'll be okay, just give it time. And remember, as far as petting her to get her to eat, you may be forming a habit here that she'll demand in the future as well. Trust me, if she gets hungry enough & food is available, she'll eat. If she goes a few days, even a week, as long as she's drinking, she'll be just fine. EVERY time we leave the house our dog refuses to eat or drink a bite. So, if I feed her breakfast & leave, she'll eat her breakfast whenever we get home, whether it's 1 hour or 18 hours later. This was slightly concerning to me at first, but I've realized (and I think she has too) the great advantage--- my dog NEVER has an accident while we're gone. lol Just enjoy her, love on her, and don't worry any more than necessary.
