Hi, I hope the rash has cleared up. My daughter has never had nappy rash, she is 10 months old now. I have always made used sensitive wipes, wiped her dry and then used vaseline before putting a clean nappy on. The vaseline is a barrier against the urine. I'm so glad I listened to my mom.

My Grand Mother told me of an old remedy for diaper rash.. Scorched flour.. Just Put some flour in a skillet and stir until brown.. put in a glass jar and wait until cooled and place on the affected area.. at first i was doubtful but what do ya know.. It actually worked!!!

It might not actually be a nappy rash. My boy had a really terrible rash that just kept spreading too, and nothing was working, so I took him to a naturopath, and turns out he had thrush! She gave him some drops to have 3 times a day, and some powder to mix in with his food, and I got canesten, and he was all cleared up in a week or so.

Boudreaux's Butt Paste is a wonder among wonders!! No powder. Unless there are blisters. Then it is probably a yeast infection and I would recommend Lotrimin. Good luck and God bless!

i had same prob with my lil man... ecept i dealt wiuth it for over a month 3 diff drs i had seen and everything they told me to use was useless, my baby boy had it soo bad it was bleeding... i found that keeping his nappy off for bout an hour at each nappy change would help dry it out... i also brought as many cream as i could and tried each and every one of them... daktosin helped and paw paw ointment was the best to use by far now i have no probs wat so ever...

good luck =)

Chances are that is not just a diaper rash but a yeast infection rash.. which needs special meds to clear it up... you should have her doctor look at it... but it really sounds like a yeast infection rash.. I worked in a daycare and my own kids have had them.. I usually knew when it was a yeast one or a regular one..

take her to the dr. It could very well b a yeast infection. the dr will probably give u nystatin to clear it up. my first daughter had a yeast infection (looked really red and almost bumpy and blotchy) and it took forever to go away...i noticed she had thrush in her mouth (white patchy spots in cheeks) and the dr said if u see that in her mouth she will have it in her diaper most of the time. Good luck!

you need to go to the doctor and get that checked. my son had a rash for a while and it turned out to be a yeast infection so it wouldnt be the worst thing to go to her doctor.

Thanks to you all for your idea's, i cant use Destine cause it makes Destiny's skin break out even worse than the rast she has right now. I found a small tube of Aquaphor in her diaper bag so im trying that and it seems to be a little less red today so it seems to be helping so im going to stick with that for the time being. I'll let you know how she is in a few days.

I always used Bag Bom on there bottomes and it really works. Try letting your little person run around in the home for a little bit before bed with nothing on the air will get to the rash.

call the dr you may need a prescription strength cream. baking soda sits baths help relieve pain along with tylenol. if you haven't tried it yet there is OTC creams that are extra strength have 40% zinc oxide as opposed to the regular creams that have only 20%. that may help too

At most hospitals they mix A&D ointment with Desitin to get rid of diaper rashes. I would def see a doctor it could be a yeast infection. I found that if I used more expensive diapers on my kids they were much less likely to get diaper rashes to begin with. The more expensive diapers like Pampers or Huggies hold the urine away from the skin better than even Luvs do. My using pricy diapers isn't about leaks it's about keeping the urine away from the skin to help prevent diaper rashes. Consult a doctor soon though about her current rash.

one ointment that i find great with caleb is benpantion. you can get it from either ur supermarket or chemist. you can put it on at every nappy change until its gone. thats the best solution that my partner and i have founf and its not hard on the pocket. u will find that it goes faster than what it does when you use aqueous cream. good luck xo

2 ideas from experiences that I have had with my 1 year old recently. #1 - what type of diapers are you using...I ask because about 2 months ago my son had a rash I couldn't get rid of with open sores, etc. It was horrible. I tried everything, different ointments...what he was eating...finally on the News where I live, I found out that Pampers diapers had changed something in their diapers that was supposedly causing this...I can't say with 100% certainty that it was the diapers, but i changed brands and haven't had any problems until the last couple of days...which brings me to idea #2 - his grandma introduced apple juice, and i gave him homemade apple sauce...the only two new items to his appitite, i cut them out and the rash is almost gone...i then remember that my mother tells a story about me having an issue like this to apple juice....anyway i hope this helps.

she probably has thrush if it isnt clearing up. get an anti fungal cream. My daughter has it at the moment and I am using an anti fungal cream (over the counter at chemist) and then putting curash powder over it. Id suggest going to the doctors if it bothering her alot though.

My daughter's Was bad also. I just used Destine. I cleaned her bottom with soap and water every diaper change. Dried it good then put on the cream. It was bad like I saw the pink of her skin and she's African American. It perfect now. Almost gone. Its been only 4 days. So I know its working. Babies skin are too sensitive for all that medicated stuff.

First check with a doctor to make sure its just a diaper rash. My parents and I always use just vasoline. It cures it and does not hurt the baby. it cleared up my nieces and nephew when they were blistered from apple and orange juice really bad.

i agree with all of them take her to the drs. but my mom also used to do this trick with my nieces when they had that bad of a rash. she would use cornstarch. like after you do a diaper change you put some cornstarch on her rash and some on her diaper... its all natural and i never did anything bad to my nieces so that might help. you also might want to try other brands of diapers. some babies can be allergic to certain materials that the diapers contain. i hope my advice helps.

I agree, you should call your doctor. I only have a boy, but when he had a bad rash I would wash the area in a nice warm bath and make sure it was completely dry before applying anything. Sometimes I'd just let him air dry for a little while to give him a break from the diaper. I'd alternate using baby powder and diaper rash cream or sometimes used both. Sometimes it even seemed to help to use neither for a little while. If the pain seemed to be really bad I'd give him tylenol. I hope it gets better!

It probably is a yeast infection. My daughter had one last month. Look up pics of it on the internet. It looks kind of bumpy, and keeps getting worse. Don't put cream on it, it just makes it worse. Let her air out as much as possible, and apply a woman's yeast infection cream on twice a day. It will help immediately, but takes several days to clear up. Also, be sure to use a good diaper brand. I just had switched my daughter from pampers to a generic brand when she got the yeast infection. Doctor said she was probably more wet in the generic brand. Good luck!

My daughter had a yeast infection. My doctor told me it won't go away with just diaper cream. You should take her to the doctor and they will prescribe a cream to clear it up.

Put baking flour in a fry pan and brown it and use it on the diaper rash. Totally harmless and totally effective. Its a passed down secret from the old people.

You may not be comfortable with this, but I swear it works! I don't even own diaper cream it works so well! If you are breastfeeding, or know someone who is lactating, Express some milk and rub it on just like you would diaper cream. Cleared all my daughter's rashes up within hours it seemed! Like I said, this one isn't for everyone, but I personally swear by it.

Zinc and Caster oil cream is the best thing- Wont sting,You can get it from the Chemist and some supermarkets, Is it a nappy rash or a form of eczema/dermatitis ? If it's eczema then a cream called DermAid will work.

Rise out the wipe, put some thick cream on it, then baby powder in the diaper to prevent rubbing. That's what my doctors office recommended for me. That helped my LO out, but really you should probably call your doctor and ask. Good luck.

hi the first thing i would do is check with the dr to make sure it is not a yeast infection. after that i woild stop using all wipes.,only use warm wash cloths to clean bottom, give her a bath with baking soda baking soda will help to balance the ph in her skin . use a cup to a full tub, the tub will become slippery so be careful. also give her as much time with out a diaper as possible let her bottom dry out the air is good for her. once her bottom begins to heal make sure to use a salve with every diaper change. check with the dr about your diapers also i don't know which brand but i know there has been a brand on the market recently that caused rashes.
