All depends on how you will use it most - if you will use it most outdoors go for side-by-side, then both kids get same view and less complaining/whining :-) If will use most in malls or other indoor areas where width is a concern get a tandem one, if possible one where the back is a little higher up than the front (or that the front has a lower back so the kid in back can still see). I chose a tandem stroller that has good enough wheelsfor walking outside, but would not work well for jogging.

where i live (southern france) it is advisable to get a tandem as it fits more doors and sidewalks, even getting in a bus is much easier. Going to supermarkets also is a consideration:) i bought a sas looping which is very light. In finding the right double pushchair you should consider the size of the places you usually go to, the weight of the pushchair and the ages of your kids, the side by side is usually good for twins as they are of the same age. You can also consider buying the one that allows you to let them face each other for when your number two is bigger, it lets you keep them occupied when your having coffee or running an errand:)

hope this helps:)

Amanda congratulations on both babies, its funny but your kids will be about the same age difference as mine, one born in april 2009 and the other on nov 14 2010. I wanted so badly the stroller phils and teds or the sit and stad from one step ahead, but i ran out of time and baby was born, and never bought it, although right now since she is 6 months old i am using a jeep double umbrella stroller, is so light and compact, that i am so happy only spent $10 bucks at a garage sale. You have to take in account the space in your trunk and if your older child still likes to sit in a stroller. My boy is so proud of sitting next to his sister when riding on the stroller. Good luck finding the best for you!!!

I am in the process of looking for a double. I am looking into a tandem, it is easier if you are going to be in and out of places such as the mall. The ones I really like right now are the Kolcraft Options Double Tandem (which is very affordable) and the Joovy Ergo Caboose.

My hubby and I are going to 'test drive' some double strollers this weekend...
