No top front teeth...

Hi, I realize this post was from awhile ago but my Dr. just told me to go to a pediatic dentist because she is afraid my 15 month old doesn't have any front upper teeth! Did everything work out for your daughter? I am very anxious about this whole thing.

My 1 year old niece didn't get any teeth until after she turned 1. And now she has two on the bottom and one on the top. I wouldn't worry about it. She will get teeth when she gets them. Don't stress about it.

I know that some children get them at different times. Strange things have happened with teeth coming in and coming out then coming in again. Both of my sons got teeth really early, like 5 months old. My oldest lost front teeth, top and bottom at age 2. The dentist didn't know why this was happening then. He hadn't been hit in the mouth. Elderly people told me it was because he was going to be intelligent. He recieved his two bottom teach before 3 1/2, but never got the two bottom ones until he was 6. He couldn't eat anything that needed the front teeth to eat with. He had to learn how to eat when they came in...LOL! My youngest, although he started getting teeth around the same time, they came out like we are use to teeth coming out. They are coming in slow. All of that said, children are so different. Give it time. Can you feel anything rough on her gums?

Also something that I did that I feel made their teeth come in early was brush them. I would rub their gums with those little tooth brushes. Massaging them helps to get that hard crust off of the gum to let the tooth come through for healthy tooth growth. This will also keep the teeth from giving them so many problems when coming in if that crust is off the gum. Plus they like it when they are teething. Try the little brush. You can get something at Walmart or Target for her.

some people are born w/out them. the actress from "sabrina, teenage witch" was born w/out them. you'll probably have to wait til she's older to get her teeth x-rayed to find out.

My daughter didn't even start getting her teeth until she was almost 15 months old. When she did start she got the top front one first, then 2 on the bottom front, then a second one on top front. She is currently working on getting 4 more (two on either side of the top and bottom front two) - most docs and pediatric dentists say to not worry about teething unless your baby hits 18 months and hasn't cut ANY teeth. Odds are your daughter is just not getting her teeth in the "typical" pattern. If you are really concerned, you can have her checked by a pediatric dentist - they can generally tell by feel if the tooth buds are there but they can also do a dental x-ray if there are any concerns.

My daughter is going to be one in 5 more days and hers are doing the same thing. My doctor told me it was fine and that they will come in when they are ready. Well lastnight she bumped her mouth on my end table and now I noticed this morning they broke through!!

my daughter is 7 1/2 months old and has her 2 bottom front teeth. Now her fangs on top are coming in. I haven't talked to a dr, but I think it should be fine. :) The teeth will come when they're ready

My son got his 2 bottom front teeth in , then he got his 2 eye teeth and shortly after he got his 2 top front teeth , every baby teeths differently and im sure your daughter will get her to tops very soon : )

Hi, my son is 10 months old and has his bottom front 2 teeth and one of to left side. He has not yet got his top 2 front teeth just like your daughter. I am not worried about it at all as it isn't causing him any stress or pain. If i look at his gums i can see the bumps of his teeth forming so i know that they are eventually going to come. I agree with your doctor that it is odd but you have to remember that no 2 babies are the same so therefore will grow differently also and as long as it isn't hurting them i wouldn't let it bother you. When they are ready to appear they'll push their way through and then the fun of bititng will begin. If you are worried about it my advice would not be to see a doctor but a dentist. Afterall they are the ones who specialise in this area and know more about it than anyone. I wouldn't listen to anyone else until you have spoken to a dentist as it will only add to your worry and make you panic when there may be no need to at all. At the end of the day it's your child and only you can decide what you feel is the best course of action. I give my son a baby toothbrush and allow him to chew on that. This helps to cut the gums and bring the teeth through. I hope i have helped ease your mind slightly x
