Any ideas for getting a 7 month old to eat fruit?!. he loves his meat and veges but seems to hate fruit. have tried apples, banana with avocado, peaches, pears, fruit salad and combo of these mixed with yoghurt. He must be like his dad and grandad - they dont really like fruit. any suggestions would be good as i want him to have varied and healthy foods. (have tried bought and home made fruit)

I don't have a problem getting my kids to eat fruit, but I try everything to get them to eat veggies. I want the nutrtition so I have started only buying V8 Fusion juice. It tastes like juice and is filled with veggies and fruit. Plus it doesn't have high fructose corn syrup in it! My kids love it and I love that they are getting the needed fruits and veggies they need.

Good luck to you. My daughter is 9 and still hates every fruit except for apples and an occasional green grape. We still keep trying. At least she will try them now, but no luck so far. She won't try peaches, pears or avocados. She hates applesauce, strawberries and watermelon. Try juice to get the vitamin C. My daughter loves juice!

Honestly... this is not a bad thing! Too many babies seem to be addicted to sweets! And although there are a lot of vitamins in fruit, they have a lot of natural sugars too! I would be very happy he loves his veggies. Remember a lot of fruits have very powerful flavors that can be overwhelming to them. Also- he is still only 7 mos. You have plenty of time to help him develop a taste for different things. Have you tried tomatos? Maybe it is taste combined with texture?

Or maybe stick with one fruit for a week or more. Introduce small amounts with his other food. My son took about 3 tries for each item he eats consistently now. Best of luck to you! But like I said- I would be happy he loves his veggies!
