The story so far as it can be realized now, if you want a girl?. I suggest you use the Shettles method because this method is already proven and has an 85-90% success rate for having a girl. but I recommend you have the a guide to living it. you can learn how the system works here.

ok, so I had the sperm backwards. Here is something I found.

GENDER SELECTION
A baby is conceived when the sperm (produced by the father) fertilises the egg (produced by the mother). The egg carries X chromosome while the sperm can carry X or Y chromosome. If X-carrying sperm fertilises the egg, a baby girl will be conceived and if a Y-carrying sperm fertilises the egg, a baby boy will be conceived.

There is a popular but unfounded theory that you can try to influence the sex of your baby by creating situations that favour the X-carrying sperm over the Y-carrying sperm or vice versa. It has been found that X and Y sperm behave differently. Y (male) sperm swim faster, but are smaller and do not live as long as the larger, slower but more long-lasting X (female) sperm.

To produce a girl, make love frequently up to a few days before ovulation
For a boy make love on or just after ovulation but not too often.

There is some scientific facts that make gender planning possible. What I've always heard was that male sperm is weaker and female sperm are stronger and faster. Hence the girl on bottom sex for a boy (to give the boy a fighting chance) and girl on top sex for having a girl. My MIL planned all 3 genders of her kids using this method and others. Most everyone I know got their boys on bottom and their girls on top. I even had a few friends admit to being "lazy" and that is why they had all boys. lol

There are other factors like the ph levels of your uterous (sp?) and so forth that play a roll in gender selection.

If you want a girl, try having sex a couple days before you ovulate. This will increase your chances. Female sperm swim slower then male sperm, but live longer. Therefore by having sex a couple days before you ovulate most male sperm may have died off by that point.

My mother said something once about timing your ovulation and the later during ovulation the sperm connects with the egg the greater the chance of having a girl. The other one is if you eat a lot of dairy you'll have a greater chance of having a boy. A way to tell if you're going to have a boy or a girl is after you're pregnant take your wedding band and put it on a length of string and hold it over your belly-if it turns clock-wise it's a girl (I think) and counter clock-wise it's a boy.

Those are just the ones I've heard. There's probably a ton online you could find. :)
