hi everyone
i have a nearly 5 month old and im just wondering if its normal to feel like this, i usually dont mind other people holding my girl because i know in the long run it will be better because she wont want to cling to me but some people just come in and take her from her pram or out of my arms and pass her around like a parcel and sometimes i feel like i want her to just want me and i no its probably stupid to think but does she know im the one who is her mum? i get really frustrated when other people come in and take over thinking they know better then me!

Yes, this is very normal! I felt the same way with my son as he was premature. It's also not good for baby to be passed around too much as their little bodies do get sore and often when they are being passed around like that, they become niggly as they start to get uncomfortable. You are her mommy and you will always know whats best for her. I mean, it is always good to listen to others advice but in the end it's totally your decision about things to do with your baby. Sometimes, you just need to be a little firm with others and let them know in a nice way, not to offend anyone... how you feel and where your boundries lie.

I think that at some point, all mothers feel this way. They want to know thay they are the most important person in the child's life and that they know who momma is. However, I don't think anyone tries to take over because they think they know more, people are just naturally drawn to babies. It makes a person feel good to hold a baby and see them smile or laugh. I think most people have good intentions when wanting to hold a baby some just may not have the greatest way of communicating.
