Ok this might sound weird but do 12 month old babies get pimples??? If they do how do you get rid of them? And is it normal for them to get pimples?

My granddaughter has pimple like bumps on body, my daughter tried to pop one and she said pus stuff like came out but the bump stayed. She wakes just about everyday with a new one. On her cheek, on back, on pinky finger, behind butt cheek on leg, on neck. She even gets them when she is with her father at his house. Could it be my detergent? She scratches them, I have to make her quit. I am starting to get worried my daughter won't take her to the dr yet. Can you offer any advise would be greatly appreciated. They r not going away either.

Yes, they can definitely get pimples. Babies have hormones the same as we do, so they can get pimples - usually they get them if they are teething or things like that, sometimes they just all of a sudden seem to pop up. Best thing to do is just wash gently the same as you normally would - don't try to break or pop them, it can just make it worse.

My daughter had a phase that she went through where she got them (and don't be surprised if they show up on arms, legs, chest, back, etc either) and all I did was just wash her the same as I normally did, and allowed her some time once a day when she could roll around naked (I put down a blanket or towel that I didn't care if it got dirty) - the "air-drying" and time without being in a diaper or clothes seemed to help a lot.

Yes, babies can come out of the womb with pimples. DO NOT squeeze, pop, irratate them at all. They will naturally go away. DO NOT use any form of teen or adult acne cream...too harsh for babies skin. Many children can also get molluscum which is like a raised pimple. Those can last for months. If you baby does have those it is best not to irritate those.

yes it is normal...pimples dont descriminate! lol try not to use too much oils, vasaline, and stuff like that instead use baby lotion, shea butter, pure cocoa butter or cocoa butter lotion. they will go away. and if they dont it could be acne and thats not good to bust them with that. take the baby to the doc to get special cream for it.

Both of those answers were awesome! I guess there's not much that I need to add! :-) I wish I'd had this group when I was first dealing with Baby Acne! I agree, definitely don't pop it!! And don't use a regular soap on their face, it will exacerbate (make worse) the problem. The best thing to use is just water to wipe their faces. Another thing that can make it worse, or make it continue.. using baby wipes on the face that have scent or alcohol in them. The best ones to use if wiping their faces with baby wipes would be Pampers Sensitive or another brand with the sensitive marking.
Hope this helps!! :-)

yeah babies do get pimples they are called milk spots, tara is right bubs normally get them around the time that they teeth or if you live in a humid area. just wash them and then leave them. if they get really bad you can always take him to the doctors, do not squeeze them usually it only causes infection or sores.

My 1 month old son broke out on both cheeks with A LOT of pimples. It's starting t clear up already in just a few days. I didn't do anything other than clean his face regularly with water. I try to clean up any spit up or substance that gets on his face as soon as it happens.
