Hello fellow moms,
I just wanted to get some advice from other moms who have daughters on how you raise them to be strong, kind, and independent future women? I have an almost 2.5 yr old daughter and a 8 mos old baby girl and I just want advice and tips on how to best raise girls. I just want to hear what advice other moms can give me and what has worked and hasn't worked. Thank you!

As others have said, lead by example. They catch more than they are taught. You will see them mimic you in play. Nothing can substitute for or influence your girls as much as you!
The other thing that's worked for my oldest (she is only 9 and so far so good), is when I see her choosing or acting in a way that is kind or when she stands up for what is right I praise her. I try to do it in situations when she doesn't know I'm watching. That way it affirms her but she isn't doing it because I'm there and she is trying to please me. I take her aside and tell her what a great job she did or how proud I am of her.

I agree with Stifler's Mum (such a funny name heehee) to set a good example, right out to what you do with your spare time and cash, like being aware of the wider world and charity, etc.

Make sure you don't spoil them too much! If you spoil them, they will rely on you for many other things & not become independent. The scary part is, when they are older, they will rely on guys to spoil them! I have a 1.5 yr old baby girl and I am trying not to spoil her. The scary part for me is when she grows up =.="
