Hi all. I have had severe itching for the last few days- week. I am almost 20 weeks along with my third, and while I've always been itchy during my pregnancies (and beforehand, for that matter, my skin is a little sensitive), it was never like this. It seemed to start on my hands and feet, and now is all over my arms and legs, but not on my stomach (I was thinking PUPPS but this usually affects the stomach). My skin is red, inflamed, and hot to the touch (though my body temp is not above normal) and I have a mild rash that does not go away. I had Shingles during my first pregnancy, but that was also very different, and I was given type B antibiotics for it, and it eventually went away. This is nothing like that at all. It is very severe and doesn't go away with menthol lotion or hydrocortizone cream or taking antihistamine (benedryl). Thoughts? Help?

I have an appointment with my OB on Wednesday, and I plan to bring it up then, but MAN it's so bad, my skin is raw and I can't go out anywhere because it is so bad.

Taking a lukewarm shower will help temporarily, whereabouts do you live? what's the weather like there right now? I know when I'm pregnant even being slightly too warm will make me swell and itch. I am sooooooo not looking forward to June this year lol. TRy draping a cold cloth over your neck and see if that helps at all. Or you could try and aloe based cream.

Thanks guys- I'm not seeming to have any liver symptoms (severe tiredness, other than the usual, lol, yellow skin or eyes, etc). I just want it to stoooooppppp. *temper tantrum almost as awesome as my 2 1/2 year olds'*

Hiya, I was talking to my midwife the other day about itching as my legs are always itchy at the moment! She said mine was all ok but that if it became unbearable or on my hands and feet then to go back immediately as it can be a sign of something very serious. Get yourself to the docs or midwife and make sure all is ok :) good luck, x
