No, shaken baby syndrome is caused by a baby being shaken hard enough to where their brain hits the inside of their skull, which causes bleeding on the brain and so forth.

Shaken baby is from the brain moving rapidly from the front of the skull to the back. Something the baby can't control and I am sure is painful for them. A baby in a jumper is going up and down and I think if the baby felt any pain, he/she wouldn't do it. And like the other said, if it could cause baby shaken syndrome, they wouldn't make them.

no. shaken baby syndrome is a very violent act where the baby is being shaken so hard that the baby's brain is smashed against the skull. don't worry about the bouncy, it is basically just vibrations that are supposed to soothe them like when the baby was in your womb.

Umm... why would they make the bouncers for babies if they caused shaken baby syndrome?? If something is made for a purpose then it should be used for that purpose..its not like its a disease they can catch from the bouncer.

I agree with heather.... If it did I think that they would not sell them or that your baby's doctor would tell you not use them. If you still feel unsure call your pediatrician and ask her to just give you a peace of mind, but I have never heard of any child dying b/c of a bouncer.

no, I have never heard of this. If a bouncer caused shaken baby syndrome then they would be recalled.

i dont think so, i mean, i am not a doctor, but, unless you are really forcibly shaking the bouncer with the baby in it i dont think it can cause that. shaken baby syndrome is caused by really really really shaking a baby with so much force that it causes their little brain to become bruised from bouncing around in the skull...
just make sure that whatever you are using is age appropriate. if it says 6 months and up then that is the age group it is for. ...
