My 10 1/2 month old son just started part time preschool last week and only goes tues. and thurs. half a day. I enrolled him b/c I wanted him to have social interaction with his peers that he's not getting at home. The problem is that after 2 half days he became sick, very sick, vomiting and having diarrhea for 2 days, coughing and of course a runny nose (but I expected the runny nose part.) It was very scary for us b/c he's never been sick before and he was projectile vomiting like something you would see on The Exorcist. Eventually he broke out in a body rash which is symptomatic of Swine Flu. We ended up taking him to his pediatrician and she recommends that I not put him in preschool if I don't have to b/c of all the germs and viruses and of course the Swine flu. She says if I have an option I should keep him home and healthy until he's about 2 years of age. What should I do, I'm conflicted b/c I thought it would be a good thing for him but I definitely don't won't to experience that again! BTW I got sick also and threw up for 2 days and I've never been so sick in my entire life and I certainly don't want to relive that ever again!!! Is it ok for Griffin to get sick to build up his immune system or is it dangerous to his health? Help, what do I do???
