Showering Your Child/Clean Under Garments?

My Claire age 2.8 almost every day, unless she is sick or really really too tired because we usually bathe/shower at night. If she is too tired I will wash her the next day.
However if she did not get too dirty (rare) and does not want bath/shower I have been know to skip a day. My Claire has eczema so it is advised not to bathe often. However I put a thick cream on her before and after baths and it seems to help.
The dermotolgist suggested once a week, obviously she does not have a toddler! Impossible I say to only bathe her once a week, she would have mold or something if I did that.
Underwear... we go through it a few pair a day because we are potty training. So sometimes she has accidents or pees just a little before making it to the potty.
I am a little obsessed about her having clean clothes if she gets them dirty I change them sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. I just like her too look and feel clean. It makes for more laundry but I don't care. My older kids are daily bathers now but I had to fight them when they hit a certain age around 10 for my daughter, we lived in N.C and TN where it gets hot and she would sweat and be stinky but for some reason did not like to bathe. My Son was going through puberty so I had to explain you must bathe and use deodorant every day... both fought me not sure why... maybe a power issue at the time but now not

It depends. In the summer, pretty much everyday. In the winter, usually every other day. I have one in diapers, one potty training and a 4 YO girl who changes her underwear at least 3 times a day and usually changes clothes twice. Actually all three usually go through at least two sets of clothes a day but 2 YO is ALL BOY and sometimes needs a middle of the day bath along with an end of the day bath.

You know those kids that seem to get dirty just standing still? He's that kid. Last Sunday I literally put his church clothes at the door and dressed him on the way out the door and I look down at church and he's got dirt on him.

My kids get super dirty, so it's everyday for clean undies and depending on the day, sometimes they skip a bath. But mostly everyday.

Every day for sure I grew up that way ..why not carry it down to my child so he can learn the same cleanly value

J usually gets baths every other night in the winter because he has skin issues and bathing too much causes them to flare up. Winters here can be very dry, but summers are more humid, which helps his skin not dry out so much. In the summer, he gets a bath almost every night, but if his skin starts to become irritated, we have to skip a night.

I, on the other hand, shower twice a day.I'm a zombie before my morning shower, so I have to do that to wake up, and I hate the idea of getting dirt on my sheets, so I shower in the evening too...Yes, I know, it's a double standard.

During the summer, yes, every day for bathing - especially after being outside all day long playing! During the cold months, every other day is very typical around my house.

I bath Renae about every 3 days (she's 4weeks) adn Logan gets a bath most days just for fun but if he's really cranky and ready for bed and acceptably clean we just change him, wipe him off, brush teeth and put him to bed. We try to at least get him in the bath or shower every second day.

We bathe our 16-month-old twins every day. They get so dirty when they eat, and with sunscreen and playing outside adding to the mess there is no way they can go without a bath. They could probably do with a couple of baths a day :-), grubby little guys

SHOWERS every day here in our household. Children play can play hard outside, sweat, therefore its proper to give them a wash everyday especially since its summer. Regardless once a day for my children they tend to "wind down at night," after a shower and they know its bedtime.

its usually every other day for my son. it also depends on the activities that have happened and how he's played. like past couple days....we've been couped up inside cause of rain. we sat watched movies, he played in his room, we played games on the floor. No bath/shower was called for. its actually not healthy for your skin and hair to wash everyday. but, if its needed then go ahead. i dont wash my hair but 2 times a week

undies are changed daily though!

In the winter, it used to be every other day, but now that it's summer, every day is necessary. My kids spend most of their day outside, and the mix of sunscreen and sweat is disgusting! Clothes, no matter what season are everyday. I couldn't imagine wearing underwear 2 days in a row, so I wouldn't expect my kids to either.

I bathe my 19 month old 1 to 3 times a week (unless she has a really dirty day). Any more and her skin dries out too much. We haven't had any hot days yet, so that might change this summer. Last year I just gave her a spong bath before bed in place of a regular bath on the off days. I'll slowly increase her baths as she gets older and her skin becomes less sensitive.

every day in the summer. i bath twice sometimes. i hate stinking and being all sweatie. but in the winter it is less often. every other day. not good to bath alot. it does strip the skin.

thats gross if your BD of the children arent bathing him everyday kids are sweating in hot weather its summertime I know but makes it even more of a chance to wash them up! plus kids feel clean and sleep better clean than dirty!

Everybody showers everyday. It can be difficult some days because we have ight now 9 people in the house. I am having a waterless heater installed next week. We run out of hotwater after 2 showers and then it takes an hour to fully heat a new tank. I have very stinky dirty teenagers and the younge ones are no different. Plus laundry eveyday and at least 3 loads of dishes in the dishwasher.
I get up at 5 a.m. just to get all the hot water i can.

My son showers every day, but he is going through puberty and if he doesn't, he is so on the nose I can't sit next to him!! My 6 year old daughter, however, doesn't. She has very dry skin, and showering/bathing strips the skins natural oils. So for her, it isn't beneficial to bathe every day, it causes all sorts of problems for her skin. Even when she bathes, she has to bathe with no soap, and generally with QV oil in the water.

Not bathing every day doesn't make a person dirty. And there ARE cases where it actually isn't a good idea.

However, underwear is changed every day, as are socks. Sometimes, depending on what we've been doing, the kids will wear the same clothes.

My 2 are bathed every night before bed 99% of the time. Some days where we haven't done much or we've been out for dinner and home later than normal I don't normally bath them but then they come in the shower with me the next morning.

Underwear and clothes are changed everyday, just the same as I would do my own. Sometimes end up with a couple of loads of washing a day.

everyday also here! underwear is changed its our duty as a parent or SP to make sure that our SKs/BC are well groomed and cleaned EVERYDAY!

usually we shower them before bedtime it usually winds the kids down!
