I was wordering how you being a stay at home mom stay fit?

Before I had my son I was very involved in sports ( cheer, dance, volleyball, lacrosse) I was in GREAT shape... but now being a stay at home mommy, I cant be as active as I was. I will take my son walking outside when it is nice out, and when he is naping I do my workouts. Im not in the same shape I use to be in =( and I was just wordering it anyone had any suggestions on different workouts you do or have tried!

Check in your area for dance schools that hold mums and tots dance classes. I know they are realy starting to take off over here in Aussie. A friend of mine takes her little one and they both love it. It gets the kids involved, and we all know most kids LOVE to dance.

I have been doing the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. Its great because the workouts are only 25 minutes but you really get a workout in that time. I don't do it every day, I do it every other day. And because its so short, I can do it while baby plays with toys on the floor nearby. Good luck!

a balanced schedule helps. i am a mother of two boys, and run a daycare in which i transport to and from school. you can add resistance in everything you do from squats while doing laundry and putting the dishes in the dishwasher to lunges. get your child involved if you can depending on age. yoga and pilates work wonders.

I walk a lot in the summer time and in the winter I do workout videos, stationary bike and the bowflex at home. I think the older we get the harder we have to work to stay in shape:( Lifteing weights has been very helpfull for me to gain stregth and to loose weights. My favorite videos are The biggest Loser workouts, Pilaties, and Yoga! I try to set aside 45 every night to workout without my kids so i can have some me time!! Good luck and make it fun with or without your baby!

I'm a stay-at-home mom too, and I exercise during my baby's nap time. I own an elliptical and a stationary bike, so I can use this equipment at home. I also use some different aerobic/pilates DVD's.

i did alot of walking after my first was born. it was nice living where there were sidewalks. *sigh* since we moved to where there's no sidewalks :P i'm not doing as much walking with the second. my goal, however, is to do more exercise in the way of sit-ups and stuff as well as taking up belly-dance again. it did wonders last time for getting the 'baby belly' back to normal. i was *almost* back to my pre-pregnancy weight (off by 5 lbs!) when i got pregnant with Billy. LOL apparently hubby thought i was too tempting to leave alone to finish getting back into shape. LOL

I have a Wii Fit and love it. I think I could be a lot thinner if I actually used it daily though. I would do it for 30 mins for a couple days and feel great, but then like usual I 'get out of the mood' and stop for 2 weeks! I just don't have to motivation...

I just ordered YRG a yoga dvd. made by the wrestler Diamond Dallas Page my friend had great success with this thought I would give it a try. Some Yoga places have classes for moms and babies try looking into that. I know I'll be coming back to see more advise on this

Join a mommy group where you can take your baby and do exercise.
There are a couple that you can do. Stroller strides is one and Yoga with baby.
I'm not sure where you live but there should be some. I know a several gyms have daycares also if that is an option.

oh honey we have all been there. You do what you can when you can. Kids keep us busy and we have hardly anytime to ourselves, hell I can't even go to the bathroom with out hearing Mommy!!,as they get older you start to get a lil more time to do things for yourself. Do you have anyone that will watch your child for an hour or two twice a week? If so go for a run,it keeps you in shape and gives you some you time even if it's just 2 hours a week and your feel a lil better.
