Supplements and excersise advce?

[deleted account] ( 11 moms have responded )

I have been getting on my elliptical and doing crunches and lifting weights for the past 23 days trying to lose some weight and get healthy. I have not lost one single pound. I cant even see any difference in my body. I am getting kind of frustrated. I know it is not an overnight miracle but shouldnt I be seeing SOME difference in weight or size? The other question I have is this- I just bought two supplements from www.prohealth.com CLA and L-Carnitine. I am wondering if anyone else has tried these or knows if it is ok to take both at the same time or just one at a time is better?

Just eat healthy foods (grilled chicken, fish, veggies, fruits), drink lots of water (no soda, no juice - unsweetened ice tea is ok) & walk when you can with your babies or dance around with them in the living room. Mummy magic weight loss tea is great to shed extra weight.

Hi Kathryn!

I work with a Wellness company that has in place a great weight loss program with great supplement and tools for maximum results! Take a look at www.vitalityforlife.com. I'd love some feedback about what you think! Keep up the good work!

Hi Kathryn! I am an independent distributor for a 29-year old health & wellbeing company. When I signed up for them, they included a month's supply of a weight-management programme. Now, I didn't really have much weight to lose, but I did have a problem on my tummy area(after having 2 kids) - I got on the programme and I lost 1.5kg and 10cm off my waist just on my first week! I was really pleased! I still take them to this day even though I've lost MORE than I wanted already, but now only for the nutrition it gives me! I've got customers who lost up to 2kg in 3 days and loses an average of 1cm every 3 days! I get really excited when they send me their results(I do follow-ups at least once a week just to keep people on track & answer questions they may have). I am really proud to be a part of this company because they don't only help you lose the weight but they keep you healthy too! I just want to share with you the concept of how & what has made this company last for this long. Please visit http://feelgoodlookgood.synthasite.com, I don't just sell products there but I've got tips and information about health & fitness as well. Have a look & see if it sounds good to you! : )

I had to totally remake the way I cooked. I looked for recipes on Allrecipes that were close to what I was making. I'm not sure what your calorie count will be. I am 5'3/4" and weighed 152. I ate 1100 calories a day and ran 3 miles 6 days a week. I lost 40 pounds in 4 months and kept it off for over a year. I"ve moved and had a lot of stress and I've put on 15 pounds but I plan to lose that before Easter. It wasn't easy, but I have a strong family history of obesity and all the diseases that come with it so I HAD to lose the weight.

So how do you count calories? Like in home made foods? And how many are you supposed to have a day?

I really recommend a book called 'The Eat Clean Diet' by Tosca Reno. Some of the things she suggests is really hardcore like absolutly no sugar or fats. I do agree with no refined sugars when possible, but as for no butter I don't. I think we need some fats in our diet! Also, if you look into starting weight watchers that really helps as well. It really makes you realize how many hidden calories are in foods that you would normally think are good for you to eat! Just remember to intake enough healthy calories if you are going to excersise a lot.

Try keeping an eating diary. When you first start working out it is common to eat more because you body sees an increase in calorie consumption. You may suprised at how many calories you really are eating. There are website where you can find out how many calories you need to maintain your weight. Just subtract a couple hundred calories and you will start to see some weight loss. It takes a 3500 calories (I think) to lose 1 pound! Good luck!

I'm not sure what my body type is haha! I only recently have been trying to get healthy. My mom has a lot of health problems and my daughter is getting old enough that i dont have to be in her business all the time. This is the first time in my life I have started working out. But I do Bellydace, elliptical, crunches, weights and i recently ordered a cardio kickboxing DVD that i am excited to try out. As far as eating i am eating a lot of fruit and veggies. I have an addiction to ice cream though..... Since i have started this healthy kick i am down to one scoop two or three times a week. Drinking TONS of water. I think i am retaining most of it though... Any more advice? I am a total health virgin! I will try anything as long as it's natural and fits into my day to day routine! Feel free to ask me questions or give me any advice you have. But please be detailed as i have no prior knowledge of how to be healthy at all.

I know that L-Caritine really only works if you add it into a well balanced diet (fibre, protien, essential fats). Do you maybe have the body type that makes you gain weight (in muscle) with too much weights? If so try more cardio with light weights. And the best thing I can recommend is portion sizing your meals. Try 6 small meals a day with lots of water and fibre.
