My husband just got a new job. it requires allot of travel to different states. His company pays for housing/food/medical etc. And they don't discourage families to tag along. But, His jobs are random, sometimes he could be here for 6 months, sometimes he could be there for 6 weeks. We want to rent a permanent house to call "home". But we would still like to explore our options. Has anyone had this delema and how did it work out?

For us, it depended a lot on how old J was and what he was doing at the time.
If your child is in school, it would be best to find a full time home so that he or she can have a stable school environment and social life. You can tag along for shorter trips that work around school and activities to explore your potions.
If your child is not in school yet, you can take him or her along for all of them, but it can get exhausting. With J, I preferred to stay home and just take shorter trips, but if John were going to be gone for 6 months or so, I would probably go with him and set up a temporary home there.
