get some Colloidal Silver from a pharmacy or health shop....works a treat for anything from blocked noses to sore eyes etc...just use a dropper to put it in the nose...clears really fast and wont do your baby any harm.

I would toss the bulb syringe and get one of these www.nosefrida.com I have one and it is FANTASTIC and best of all it actually works to get the mucus out and clear the nose. I put 2 or 3 drops of saline in each nostril at the beginning of a diaper change then let it work while I change her diaper, then use the "nose sucker" afterwards and it always clears it out on the first try, not having to use it over and over like the bulbs (which was like torturing her, I hated it). The nosefrida thing seems weird, but trust me...it works so quickly I don't feel like I'm hurting my daughter anymore when I clear her nose.

Vapor rub, Johnson & Johnson or generic. Rub it from their collar bone all over the chest and a bit on the sides of the chest. Not alot, but a light layer works, cover with an undershirt. Also on the bottoms of feet, then cover with socks.
I like the baby vicks for a small dab on the end of their noses, its very mild.
After the useful vapors are gone, the petroleum is left and may be a bit hard to wash out. Clothes can be washed with hot water and spray n wash/shout and a good soak. Rub the area that has vicks on it. Repeat soak again until satisfied with results.

My son had the same problem. His dr told me to put him in his bouncer and bring him into the bathroom while I took a shower. The warm water helped to break everything up and helped him cough. Now 3 yrs later whenever he or his sister get a stuffy nose we turn the shower on full blast HOT and sit with them in the bathroom. I know it can get hot but my husband will open the door, let some of the steam out, then close it back or you can all just sit in your underwear, like I do.LOL

The best thing ever if your infant is congested, Johnson and Johnson (soothing vapor bath) My husband is not big on the kids being on medication all the time so we found different ways. The Johnson vapor bath works really well and helps relax them to, My niece recently had a baby with congestion and I advised her to try this and she did and it worked well for her baby also. It the most affordable way and can give your baby relief without all the junk in there system.

Bulb syringe and saline drops are still great...but try a cool mist humidifier. Also i put my daughter in her swing and/or bouncer to sleep so she wasn't flat

Try propping the baby upright while he/she sleeps! My son was very congested for months when he was really little and he would fuss a lot and not sleep very well.So we took a pillow and some blankest and propped him upright in his bassinet while he slept. It helped keep his passage ways clear and he slept a lot better and was a lot happier during the day. But be sure to cover the pillow and blankets you use to build up the slant with a tightly tucked in blanket over the top to keep them from shifting and bunching up around the baby's face or head.
