My son threw up on the couch yesterday. I've scrubbed and scrubbed but it still smells like vomit. I know it got into the cushion because I simply had to clean him up before I got to the couch so it had a few minutes to seep in. Any suggestions on what to do? Other than buy a new couch! lol

Try this tried and true formula: 1 cup white vinegar, 1/2 cup ammonia and 4 Tbsp. baking soda. Mix with 1 gallon of really hot water. Use this in a steam cleaner vacuum or spot clean with it. If the smell remains, try sprinkling some baking soda on it and letting it sit for alittle while and vacuum up.

We use a combination of a liquid enzyme pet urine neutralizer along with carpet cleaner and a hand held wet vac. We have 4 kids, and have had to use it MANY times (potty training, accidents or sickness). If you do not have a wet vac on hand, then use a scrub brush, and some of those micro-fibre cloths that pick up a lot of liquid.
The cool thing about the liquid enzyme - you can find it in the pet department almost anywhere, and it works on other smelly substances as well. We've used it on beds, cushions, and hard wood floors (example, my 4 year old found a 3 week old sippy cup - and opened it).

Well, I had to ask my friends for advice on getting stains from my couch a couple weeks ago. I was told rubbing alcohol, and it worked great. It might help with getting the smell out,

a mixture of warm water and white vinegar is what I use. then when that dries I use a fabric refresher like Febreeze to get rid of the vinegar smell. This will get the stain out too.

It has so many uses... one of which is taking out odors and stains.

Try odo ban. I purchase it at my local sams club. That stuff gets the smell out of anything!
