Water dilemma....

My 6 month old daughter acts as though she's going to die of thirst lol. I started her on her first foods over a month ago (which is going great!) and started giving her water along with it thinking that she wouldn't be getting all the hydration she needed. But it doesn't seem to matter how much I give her, she still wants more to the point that I caught her trying to drink her bath water today. She gets upset when I take her slippy cup away. I know that you're only suppose to give them a couple ounces a day. Should just let her drink as much as she wants (this considering that my husband needs to consume between 2 and 3 gallons a day to stay hydrated)?

BTW she's full on crawling already so keep that in mind also

I know that she won't take it. She's very scheduled when it comes to eating.

How about give her a breastfeed/formula when she does this.

Do you live in a dry/hot environment? I live in AZ. It was really hard for me to wait until my son was 6 months to give him water, but I realized it was important. Anyway, I am sure your ped will be helpful next week! :) For now, I would go with my gut! That rarely seems to be the wrong answer.

I haven't talked to her doctor yet because her 6 month check up is next week. I give her formula (I dried up really early )-:). She has absolutely no problem drinking anything. She's not even messy anymore when she eats and drinks.

Does she still breast feed or use formula? Have you talked to your ped? When my son was that young, he actually choked a lot when I would give him water. I would still give him tiny sips every time he sat down to eat, and if he asked I would give him some, but he just couldn't swallow it well. He is not almost 3 and does fine with everything! :)
