Weeknight Habits?

Just wondering what other mothers do after dinner on a weeknight?

My husband get's home at about 6pm, we all eat dinner, and clean up (~7pm) If it's nice we might go for a little walk &/or go to the park to push our 12 month old in the swing. But more often than not, we watch TV (usually an hour) and let our son play on the floor in the living room (We still play with him: 15 min before dinner, 20 min after dinner, here and there between the show, after the show before bedtime, you know what I mean?) Then my husband gets his lunch together, we get the baby to bed (9pm) and then get ready for bed ourselves.

I feel a little guilty about not having much "family time" on weeknights (we do lots of family stuff all weekend long though) but after all day we like a little relax time before bed.

What is your weeknights like? Any suggestions of things to do?

You shouldn't feel guilty at all. It sounds like you are doing well with winding down after a long day of work for your husband and yourself. My husband and I like to play Phase 10 or Flinch once in awhile. It is also nice to invite another couple over maybe for dessert and social time a few times a month. Simplicity is the key to memories and strong family ties. The best memories are of times together no matter what you are enjoying.
