Dollar stores can have great things. I bought a bunch of cloth ribbon for cheap to decorate my chairs with.

string popcorn for the tree anduse dried orange slices and apple slices for decoration it turns out very cute. you could dry the fruit in your oven too. we have also wrapped our picture frames and also our kitchen cabinets. it looks very cute when wrapped with ribbon like a present. You could also use pine branches to make a wreath or swag.

Yup dollar stores are awesome! We bought so much of our Halloween decorations there. Also, make sure you buy up all the Christmas decorations after Christmas when they go on sale for 50-75% off. Get some for next year!

Have the kids make ornaments and paper snowflakes. Make a chain out of construction paper. String popcorn. Homemade is the best!

USE REAL PINE OR CEDAR .....i dont mean like cut down a forest!! lol .....But maybe in your yard or near by woods...take some pine and cedar limbs and put them together and then tie a simple bow around them!! they smell great and makes you feel all cozzy and warm too!! JUST DONT GET THEM NEAR LIKE A REAL FIRE WHERE THEY MAY CATCH ON FIRE!! Martha Stewart had several ideas using real pine cones and things from your kitchen cabinets and pine and cedar years ago!! I havent looked at it lately though....This year around our town i have NOTICED ALOT MORE OF THIS USE OF REAL AND NATURE THINGS TOO!! :-) and you can always google for ideas as well....:-)
