John is 22, almost 23 months and i will be doing his room out before baby number 2 comes along. i have been advised not to use characters at this time because he might not like that character next week. i would like to lay down the basics of a room that i can adapt and he can grow in.
what are your opinions/experiances with this? any pictures would help GREATLY!! :o)
he loves anything to do with the farm - not a city boy.
thanks mums. totally open to ideas xx

If you got him a basic bed set in a primary color you could always make some farm animal decorations for the walls. That way his bed set could last him if/when he outgrows farm animals. We did a "Cars" theme in my two year old's room. We found some of the wall decals that stick on the wall but don't damage it. They are great! It adds something fun to the room but they aren't permanent. We just moved into a new house and we are expecting baby #2 in September. My in-laws are good at building things. They made him a headboard and a little desk. We switched him to a twin bed from the converted crib because we are going to use the crib for baby #2. We also switched around dressers. His dressers was one that had been in the family for a long time and had the perfect top to put a changing pad. That one is now in the baby's room and he got our old one that is tall and skinny. We put it in his closet to make more play space for him. We bought a new dresser at IKEA for our room. We just tried to keep his furniture pretty neutral so it would last for a while. Good luck with everything!

My little boy is nearly 3yrs old now and changes his mind more often than his pants! His room is cream and white with character posters everywhere. When he decides he doesn't like Thomas The Tank Engine we take those pictures down and put Lightening Mcqueen or Bolt or Transformers up instead. I also keep all the posters now so when he decides, actually, Thomas The Tank is cool, I can put those pics back up and not have a meltdown on our hands :)

OOOooohh Kathrine i love!!! thanks for the link.. i will search for something similar in my country and ask my SIL to help me sew some up!! love it!
Cori, unfortunately there is no IKEA in this country - would be very welcome here tho. cheap, quality furniture would be a blessing in every house hold here! i did how ever find a site with a tractor bed that hubby could put together.. it has the sizes and dimensions and everything. keep the ideas coming ladies :o) i have 10 more days to get my plan and prices ready :D
