My kids only have one grandparent living, so she has to share her time with lots of grandchildren. Not likely she would have them for a week. If she could. I would be taking the days as they come doing what ever it was I wanted to do at that moment. catch up on sleep,TV and take long baths. Go out for dinner. Take me time.... Enjoy cherish the time you have .

only now am i finally starting to have more time to myself. my little one is 16 months old and is happy to play by himself and seems to want "me" time. but also because my hubby is at home, i have been able to pursue things i have had on hold. One of my favourite past times is getting out amongst nature whether it be sitting quietly and watching the birds, or just laying in my hammock and relaxing. We are in the early stages of a veggie garden at the moment. The thing i would love about this week the most is being able to COMPLETE things lol. I am about to start doing belly dancing. Are there any things you have always wanted to do? I admire you for making this time for yourself, enough people don't do it. I don't feel that children need to be with their mothers all the time.

LOL yeah a week to myself i dont think i have experienced that in quite a while. Now hubby is at home i have finally been able to do more for myself. One of my favourite ways to relax is to spend time out in nature, whether it be watching the birds that come into the yard or laying in my hammock.

Enjoy!! Do those things you have wanted to do and couldn't because of the constant "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy". Read a book, even a magazine, take a long bubble bath, or even a romantic dinner for just you and your husband. As ours are getting older and aren't around as much I have found time to try new recipes and not have to hear, "I don't like that." A staycation is fun too! Make a reservation at a local hotel...get that room with the hot tub (don't forget a bottle of wine). Nice way for you both to relax.

The only time I have ever experienced being away from my kids is when I was pregnant with my 2nd child and was put on bedrest and hospitalized the last part of my 2nd pregnancy...enjoy it...do all the things that you always think you want to do but it has been much harder to get them done with a little one at home...but in the middle of doing all of that stuff make sure you get a lot of R&R wich stay at homes need..wich most people don't get.because they think we have it so easy....but we know how it is. Enjoy your week!

I've been a mother for... 11yrs gosh time flies hehe I have 3 children and have never really had any time away from my kids (not all at the same time!!) if i ever did manage to find someone who would have all of my children at the same time haha, I would ABSOLUTELY make the most of it, probably jump on a plane and go visit my girlfriends... go on a road trip just me and hubby.... eat late, sleep in...the list goes on

Im a stay at home mum but we don't have parents in the same country, you are so lucky, ENJOY!! =D

my son will be 2 in april and has only ever been away from me 2 times and for about 2 hours each time. so me and daddy could go see a movie. i think i might have a breakdown his first night stating over night. that probably wont come for a while!

[deleted account]

snowboarding or biking or skateboarding. any active thing i can't do when i have a toddler. makes me feel alive to get out and be active because sitting on the sofa watching him or being at a playground is super sedentary

that is a long time! Last year for my birthday, I took the weekend...by Sunday, I was going NUTTY!! However, do enjoy your freedom...sleep late, eat warm food-while sitting, enjoy not hearing cartoons! Have a great week

I live with my mom so I don't know what it would be like to not have my son around me all the time. He used to sleeps in grandma's room once in a while so I could catch up on my sleep but not anymore!! I think I would go nuts not having him around to make me laugh at the silly noises he makes when he is playing!! Very very rare I go anywhere without my little man, I think since he was born a year ago that it's been like 3 or 4 times i've gone somewhere without him. I am expecting another baby that is due the 23rd of this month so it is going to be very strange to not have my son with me for the 2 days that I will be in the hospital. I would say that you should enjoy your free time by doing things that you can only do when kids aren't around like watching your favorite shows, go see a movie, take a long hot bath, read a good book, NAP!!

Go threw the house, starting with their bedrooms, take your time you do have a week to do it in and hang out with a friend, take a little longer getting ready for the day or night and make sure you call some friends you havent seen in awhile. Its what i do and I find myself busy enough to enjoy it. :)

I watch a lot of movie! lol
It's funny how we ask (or they ask) somebody to take them and when they do take them, we can't figure out what to do with the time we finally have. lol

hahaha my son at his grandparents for a week? not happening...his grandma on his dad's side passed away years ago...his grandpa lives in Kenya. Aaron's grandparents on my side, well I'm in Canada, my mom lives in Oregon, and my dad lives in Montana....so can't say my son will be with his grandparents on his own any time soon. :)

The last time my son was with his grandparents (my daughter hadn't been born yet, so she hasn't been with them for more than a day) for a week was when my husband and I went to Colorado. It was really nice to have a few days off, but I definitely missed him after a while. If that ever happened again I would probably catch up on things like house-work or things that I usually don't get to do.

As many, I have not had that pleasure LOL. But if I did, I would clean my house, be with my DH and continue to work from home with my business and get as many calls in as I could. Hope you have fun! Rebecca

I am jealous. I have never not had my children, except when I was in the hospital having my second child. I wish I could get a day or two to myself. If I could I would kick back with a good book, enjoy quality time with my hunny when he was at home, enjoy having the remote and not having to watch cartoons, go to lunch with my girlfriends, get alot of cleaning and organizing done, SLEEP!, and miss my kids like crazy. ;)

Haha, mainly, wonder what the heck to do with all my spare time! It has only happened once for us, so far.

Actually, my husband and I used that time to get stuff done around the house (cleaning out rubbish and what-not). We went out to a movie, and out to dinner by ourselves a couple of times, too.

Oh, but what did I do as a SAHM? I read books!!

[deleted account]

oooooo! I went away for a week because my step_daughter ( 20 yrs) graduated from Army boot camp. My mom took my kids ( GOD Bless her) for a week and Let me tell you, for the first 3 hours I walked around aimelessly. then I cleaned my house top to bottom and sat down and said , "okay, now what do I do". Then we left for our trip and I was so busy I didn't really even have time to think. Enjoy, and RELAX!! You deserve it!!!!

Catch up on all the things you havent been able to do! Hang with the girls, go out with the husband/partner, sleep, clean up everything, scrapbook, watch that movie you havent been able to see yet, there has to be something you've been dying to do and havent been able to..... Just have fun!
