wow our husbands must be a lot alike.....mine tells me all the time that he wants to stay home and I can go get a job. He wouldn't last one day!!!!! He would be watching news or spending hours on the internet while they are just doing their own thing......he never knows what to feed them, would forget to brush their teeth and would send them to bed unbathed and in their clothes because he's too lazy to put them in PJ's.....oh, and the house would be a disaster.

Unfortunatly my husband thinks its so easy staying home with Peyton since she is not that difficult right now and that I should go to work and pay the bills and he will stay home! He really doesnt even interact with her unless I hand her over to him! When he is with her for 2 hours alone he is calling me asking when I'm coming home or when I'm home handing her back to me..I dont think he is really a baby person maybe most men arent but he interacts with his older boys (from previous marriage) quite a bit! It hurts my feelings alot..

I do plan to finish my bachelors degree with online classes and maybe try and find another child to babysit to bring in some extra cash. I considered a weekend job but my husband (doesnt really want to watch our baby all weekend, its seems that way) said he didnt want me too!! hmmmm

Thanks ladies..thanks Mandy..We actually have a kindermusik class (mommy and me)for P and I we joined and its on wednesday morning so that is fun. It's a beautiful day out so we might get out and take a walk....any other great ideas would be fun! I live in Oklahoma so there is not always a lot of exciting things to do like a beach or something but we deffinitly hitting the pool come summertime!!! love ya'll

Hi Chesnie, first of all I just wanted to say that you have a great name....Chesnie Park....I love it!! :) And I've been wondering the same thing....I tend to get very cabin feverish when I'm home all the time....and I babysit 4 days per week so I don't get a lot of opportunity to leave the house, although its just one little boy that I watch so sometimes I just take him with us (I have 2 of my own) and we go find something to do out of the house. I wish I had more ideas for free or inexpensive things to do with them other than the park. Thanks to the moms that posted links for the moms groups, I'm going to check into that, my kids would love play dates....I've been wanting to find a group but didn't know where to look.

I agree with the other Mom's join a Mom's group (I found ours through www.meetup.com) we also try to have at least 1 activity outside the house a day such as swimming, going to the library, park, play dates, coffee or lunch with friends or other mom's, music classes, if your LO is still a baby then going to the movies on baby day, even if its just going for a stroll through the mall! I would go crazy if I had to spend more than one day actually at home :) Once you make some friends through a group it really helps a lot, our Mom's group has scheduled activities that I can choose from just about every day to fill in the times we don't have plans.

Hey Chesnie!

First of all...Do not feel stupid at all!! :) Being a stay at home mother is a tough job. Some days are easier than others, but it sounds like you are doing a great job. Like Sarah had mentioned... getting involved in a mom's group can be helpful or maybe volunteering somewhere that is baby friendly. Additionally, I have a home business that fits around my four children and their schedules as well. Ultimately it depends on what you want to add to your day, but writing a to-do list every day may help. Include non-chore or errand running activities. Sometimes we just need to put on our list a reminder that says "I am a good mother and wife who provides a priceless gift to my family" :)

I joined a moms group and we get together and do playdates and tons of fun activities with the kids. Go to www.momsclub.org and enter your city and it will link you to the moms group in your city. It's a great way to meet other moms. I also have a home business that keeps me pretty busy. I hope that helps.
