What do you do with your spare time?

As a mother of a newborn and a 2-year-old, I really don't get a lot of down time, but every once in a while, I find both of the kids sleeping, and my chores all done. I'd like to pick up a hobby that gives me something to look forward to; something that gives my day a little more substance and makes me feel a little more accomplished. My problem is that when I have down-time, it's maybe 10-30 minutes a few times a day(that's a good day), so whatever I'm doing has to be something that doesn't take a lot of time, and is something I can drop right down and tend to my children when they need me. Right now, I get on the computer on my down time(which is what I'm doing right now...) for lack of anything better to do, but this just really doesn't cut it for me.
Any suggestions? What do you all do?

I read novels. I am a member of a "mommy's book club" at our local library. We all read the same book then meet twice a month to discuss it. The library holds a free story time /play session for tots, preschoolers, and kids at the same time we meet so I get to enjoy a good book, and I get adult conversation twice a month as well.

A local mom organized ours, if your library doesn't have one set up like that, you can talk to them about organizing it, or set up a book club to meet in the evening when your husband is home :)

Thanks everyone for the great ideas. I'm waiting on a couple of books I ordered, and my grandma is picking me out some yarn to send over for me. (I'm not lazy or anything; I live in Japan right now.)

Free time? What free time? hahaha just kidding...I get a bit of free time here and there. I usually use it to watch a show I have been wanting to watch, read a bit, or to come on here for Facebook.

I knit whenever I can, and thanks to my hubby and brother, play video games sometimes, I will also use the quiet time to call someone I've been meaning to talk to.

I crochet, make jewelry (which I sell on etsy too, so I can tell my husband I'm working lol) or work at my online coaching business. If my oldest is awake, we do something together that she likes... like watching a "scary" movie like Star Wars or play Boggle or Scrabble without interruptions. :) It's fun!

My husband has an Xbox and recently got the Kinect (like Wii but no controller) for it and I am addicted to the Dance Central game! It's so much fun and an awesome work out!

I do the whole facebook thing when I really need a nap. SO I won't be much help. Or mix up a cake and put it in the oven.

Why the same thing we do every day Pinky, try and take over the world!!!! Sorry I usually don't plan anything, whatever happens to strike a chord that day is what I tend to do. I like to scrapbook, but everything else is usually picking on my four year old just to get funny responses out of him. I know I am really lame.

I like to read whenever i can. I love reading james patterson books. My son doesn't take naps much anymore so he is usually always awake all day but sometimes we play games together or read together. Sometimes he'll be busy watching tv and i'll get on the computer for a little bit.

Sometimes I sew, but I LOVE to read so that comes first for me. Sewing things for the house (like curtains) or for the baby (like pants) gives more of a sense of accomplishment, though.

I am learning to sew. I mentioned wanting to learn, so my husband bought me a nice machine for Christmas. So far I have made simple things, pillowcases and pillows. lol. Its a lot of fun and my kids love to watch!I also make hairbows for my daughter. I am not very creative, but its something to do. I also scrapbook, but haven't done it in over a year! I try to relax when I can. All 3 of my kids are in school, but I work during their school hours a few days a week. I always try to read before bed also. Gets my mind going....

I sew! I love to sew. Mostly, I sew at night after they are both asleep. My little one used to fall asleep to me sewing. So, when she was a newborn I could sew during my older daughters nap time and bed time.

I'm learning to crochet and I love it! It's way easier than knitting and I can make some cute gifts for the family. I'm also learning to play the bass (slowly). My husband got me one for christmas, and he plays the guitar so it's something that we can do together. I have also started painting in the past few years, and it is such a great creative outlet!
I usually do these things at night when the baby has gone to bed, if I have the energy ;)
