What do you SAHMs do for fun in your spare time?

I go out on my porch and read or catch up on catalogs; find time to check out facebook and chat with friends; talk on the phone or catch up on the newspaper; all of which I can't do when the little man is up. He requires 110% attention! A nice cup of afternoon coffee is always a pleasure...

Spare time...what's that? Granted many of the things I do would be considered hobbies by most, but when your child simply cannot wear synthetic fabrics, knitting and sewing become neccessities. When she can't use petroleum based anything or corn; I also do a lot of cooking, make lotion, and will learn to make soap as soon as I get lotion figured out.
We also homeschool, so all the kids are no farther than across the street most of the time.
My one "just for me" indulgence is watching NCIS.

Spare time? What's that? :)
I love to shoot basketball hoops in the backyard with my 3 boys...it's pretty therapeutic! I also enjoy creating jewelry and running a fun business from home. It takes up lots of my "spare time" but I have a blast doing it. I try to catch up on folding laundry during my spare time and get the kiddos involved too. Matching socks is the perfect job for them!

yep - spare time. lol. No, really I do get SOME. I do love reading. I'm expecting again and my joy of the day is when both kids nap and I get to take one too. Other than that, just enjoying the walks to the post office and things that are a necessity for chores/errands, but can be made fun.

It's all depends upon what you can do during your freetime. I have freetime during the day now that all my kids are in school, however when they were home with me I would use small sparetimes in between to do something I' enjoyed like reading a magazine, now it's books when I pick up my kids from school I make sure I bring one and if any kids are with me when I have kids in school yet to pick up they too bring something to keep them busy during the short time we wait for pick up. computer checks too plus housework. It's what works for you that you can fit in your sparetime hobby, needs, or fun things to do..

Spare time, what is that?
Nah, I like to read a book, play a game, take a bath (not a shower a bath), cook, clean, or just enjoy the quiet. I don't get very much spare time with two kids that aren't in school yet. So I try to make the most of what little I do get.

I go to the gym (with the kids in tow and put them in the creche), bake, or just chill out in front of the tv with a cup of tea. Sometimes I will get a haircut or sometimes for bdays/xmas/mothers day I will gat a voucher for a day spa and treat myself to a massage

I feel a little left out here. LOL Spare time is not something I have. But my boys and I enjoy fishing and taking walks. We love baseball and playing board games. :)
However, if I had spare time, a looooonnngg hot bath would be Great!!! :D

I like to get out of the house as much as I can and I am eager for the weather to cooperate so that I can get the boys outside more. Since I have been cooped up inside I have been blogging for fun. I would love for you to stop by and say hi! www.lifelossandotherthings.com

I go to MOPS. I set up time for nights out with girl friends at least once a month or at least I try. I join committees through out the community that I believe in some of which are also for the kids but I enjoy it. I was working out at a gym 4-6 days a week be have some health problems to take care before I can go back.

Free time! I didn't know that we were supposed to have that still! GD it all, that page must have been ripped out of my manual. (lol) Actually I like to cross-stitch, read, bake/cook, organize and clean. I am also trying to teach myself to use a sewing machine (will come in handy when my twins arrive!) and I like to plan outings for my daughter and I (and my husband if he can come). In a couple of month I know that I will not have any free time for quite a while.

Keimana and I get outside. We are part of a mom's group in san jose ca, so we are always doing something. We hike 2-3 times a week, a playdate at other moms houses, we take fieldtrips to children museums... summer parties. Park playdates, when we are home, mom catches up on news and school and keimana well she entertains me and her very well. Getting out is the best option. Stay at home mom is just a title.xoxo

You're looking at it. lol ;) Actually, when the weather's nice, I like to wake up early before everyone has woke up and have a nice cup of coffee on my patio. This is ofcourse during the summer. I like spending time in my garden, which most of the time I have company. In the winter I like to knit, crochet and sew. I would love to get into quilting, but it seems expensive. I also love baking bread and cooking. Cleaning's a little lower on the list, but it's something I do while the kids are busy.

i love knitting and crocheting! :) blankets mostly, because in my opinion you cant have too many blankets. when i have little amounts of yarn left i make newborn hats for the hospitals because it doesnt take much yarn. also it helps keep my wrist from cramping. :)
