i don't mean parenting fears (unless you have one that's your biggest!) in life...what fear has grown on you to be the worst? mine is...bee's, wasp's, hornets...and those black zapper bug things! i am terrified of them, and have been since i was little...i'm scared to pass along the fear onto my children, but when i do dodge those creepy things and my daughter makes a comment, i tell her everyone has their own fear, it may be a fear of heights, a fear of worms....or a fear like mine! everyone is different. she has a 'bee' ring she wears out with me now to keep the bees away! AWW!!

Spiders, because they have 8 legs. They are evil and horrible and should never have been invented and all need to die! Yes I'm nuts I know. I am completely terrified of them. I scream, shake, hyperventilate, go dizzy, turn white and sometimes throw up - especially if it moves, I hate how they move. The fear comes out of my bones, I feel it start in the middle of my body and run through my bones and seep out and devour me. My goodness I dont think I have told anyone that before - there I just told the whole world on the internet!

I agree that I am terrified of passing this on to my son, I dont want him to go through life being so scared of something.

I dont think that everyone has a fear. Sometimes people say they have a phobia of something, but they just the normal amount of scared, not phobic.

My husband says if I could not be scared of them I could be a world famous spider hunter. God I hate even typing the word spider, eww ukk!! I know where they will be hiding, where they will build a web, what type it is from its web, how old it is, how hungry it is, which way it will run, if it will jump. And I'm right every time. Basically if you spend your whole life afraid of something you cant help but pay very close attention to how it behaves.

I check my clothes before I put them on, I check the bed before I get in it, I check under chairs, under desks, the list goes on.

My brother has this phobia also, but my sister doesn't, she says she is scared but she knows its not the same as us. One of my brothers kids is also scared of them, his oldest, but the other 3 are not. So he didn't pass it on to all his kids.

I dont think I became scared of them, I think I was born this way. Even though thats not supposed to be possible. Ok time to stop writing before everyone really thinks I'm nuts.

sorry for your loss, Stephanie :( it does happen all too quickly...i guess we just have to live for every second we have here!

spiders creep me out, but at least they can't fly and sting, or zap LOL, i can just step on them, or scoop and take them outside

of course you can say top 2...losing your temper is a good one, and if you did lose it with your son (i know i have lost my temper a few times) it'll be for the right reason...but if you feel like physically hurting him, back away into a different room and take a few huge breaths! :) you'll get through it (even though at the time it seems like it will never end) sounds like you and your husband have a great relationship, and i hope you never have to deal with that sort of loss!

true, Chrissy, take it one day at a time...i'm also terrified of home invasion, i cannot sleep if i'm home alone..it's ridiculous! i live in a house on the 2nd floor, i would never be able to live on the first!

i also never want to leave my children, i wonder what our grandmothers thought when they were aging..probably the same thing? i would bawl all day long if i had to watch over them..and not be living with them...terrifying!!

i always make sure my children's rooms are farthest and safest from the main entrance to my home..i also make sure their windows can't be opened from inside or out because i went through a phase like that too..it was to the point i couldn't sleep at all i was so scared..i put everyone's beds in my room and there they slept..i thought of doing that when i moved here but of course my husband wanted his room back, i am semi-over it now, i'll never be completely over it..but i feel good about where they sleep, and they know they can always crawl into bed with me!

My biggest fear is to die and leave my children without me. Not knowing what is going to happen with them if I go to heaven. I know I'll see them again but not been with them here in earth is my fear.

I have many big fears..heres just a few.Spiders,Snakes,Bugs that bite or sting! Home invasion while my husband is out of town, Death..I dont want to lose My husband or children but I also dont want to die without seeing them grow up and have families of their own! I fear if something happened to myself or my husband that no one would raise our children as we do..How would they be taken care of and if whomever had them would they love them and be kind to them! but all I can do is trust in God that he will watch over them if that should happen..if you let it fear will take over your life.Enjoy your loved ones and take one day at a time...

Can I say my top two? My first to be perfectly honest is losing my temper. It can be pretty fierce when I finally do blow although I take great care not to let it get to that point. I haven't fully lost my temper since I was about ten years old. I actually pretty much reduced my two best friends to tears(in my defense they weren't great friends. The whole reason I lost it was cause they'd prank called me the night before, ringing then hanging up) I'm so afraid that I will lose my temper and physically hurt my son. My second is losing my husband. It scares me that soemthing might happen to my children, but not as much as it scares me that something might happen to my husband. I know that if I lost my child, he would be there for me to lean on, but if I lost him, then I would have no one to help me, no one to lean on and it wouldn't be fair to my kids to need them to support me emotionally. I had to with my mom and I hated it. They're a little different but there they are!

I've actually got 2 big fears. The first is losing my children. I lost my brother 2 years ago and sudden death is all to real. I'm terrified of having my whole life taken away in the matter of seconds.
My second fire. Not just any fire but a house fire. I am completely paranoid. We have alot of bon fires and a gas stove. Everything has to be checked and perfect and still it has been known to keep me awake. Even worse is combining the two fears. Out of everything in this world UGH! It upsets me so bad I can't even think of it.
I sometimes worry that my anxiety over these two things will make my boys overly paranoid as well.

Death is a super good one. I've always been terrified (especially when my boys were babies) that I would die in my sleep and that they would be alone in the crib with no food, or milk and a wet/dirty diaper crying and scared until my husband got home.

death is #1, i never want to leave my children, or my family...i don't want to miss out on grand kids or great grand kids...or my own going to college.. and growing up (although...they're all just starting out!) ahhh!!! :( but i always forget when i see a bee buzzing by! lol!!

My biggest fear is mice. We live in the country so they are not uncommon out here. Thankfully, I don't seem to have passed it on to them. They are actually very protective of me. "Mom, do you want us to check for mice before you go out there?" LOL

My biggest fear is that when I die I will never see my family again. My fear is being along.

That is so cute. My biggest fear, other than losing my family, which is an obvious fear, is ladders. I am not afraid of heights. I can climb trees, fences, playground equipment, etc. I havve this extremely wierd fear of ladders and step stools for some reason.
