I'm expecting (due in June) and want to start a baby registry. Are there any you would personally recommend? I've heard that Babies R us is good but I want to find the BEST baby registry.

I had the worst experience with a return at Target! I was trying to return a diaper bag from my registry (somehow I ended up getting 3 of them!) and after a pointless call to Gift Registry and almost a dozen emails to customer service I managed to figure out the solution on my own. If you need to return an item without a gift slip, you can log onto an in-store kiosk and it will actually give you the option to print a gift receipt for any registry item! But for whatever reason not a single Target employee seems to know this.....

I used Babies R Us and had everything I needed with them. I have also ordered online for someone out of state and had it shipped directly to them very easily so even if someone doesn't live near one, they can have it sent to you.

A small piece of advice on your registry...don't register for a lot of clothes or bibs. They are very difficult to find off of the registries, often change, and you will get a ton of them even if you don't register for them. Use your registry for the practical things that people might not think to pick out as a fun gift.

Babys R Us is good, but has a limited selection (especially if you are interested in organic/natural/green products). Buy Buy Baby is really good - just went there for the first time and they are fantastic!
Also AMAZON - i did our son's Christmas list there as a Wish List. Super easy and Amazon has a huge selection of items, and the customer reviews are helpful.

Burlington Coat Factory has a HUGE baby department and everything is very reasonably priced..and they have a wide variety of everything youd ever need..if you have one in your area i would suggest it.

elizabeth, i hate walmart to!! I dread having to ever go there and am even willing to pay a little more at target than have to step foot in a walmart! haha! on that note, i returned everything that i got from walmart and even some stuff that i didnt get there that they carried because i had to get everything from my shower from california to delaware so there was a lot of returning and re buying!

ALYCE, if there is a Burlington Coat Factory where you live they have an AWESOME baby department (in most stores) that they call Baby Depot, i have only been to the one close to where i live and its amazing. WALLS and WALLS of clothes tons of clothes that are discounted (because apparently they are 'last years style' or overstock purchased from another store. they had cribs that where the same as Babies R us but $100-300 cheaper! we got our bedroom set from there, with accessories that at Babies R us was $250 we were out the door at $125!

Babies R Us definitely has the best baby registry. No matter what city and or state you are in every Babies R Us has the same things. Don't register at places like Wal-Mart or target because their stuff varies depending on the store and your family and friends may have a really hard time finding something on your registry. I have family all over the country and they were all able to find things from my registry at Babies R Us. I had a friend that only did Wal-Mart and I couldn't find anything from her registry and we only live 30 minutes from each other, 2 different Wal-Marts and only 30 minutes apart.

The best baby registry is wherever your family/friends will actually shop!! I made the mistake of registering at Target (because they are great and have nice things at good prices, silly me) and not ONE person used it, despite all having been informed. They all shop at Walmart. (HATE Hate hate Walmart) So I had doubles, triples, even quadruples of some items. And not a gift receipt in sight. Save the hassle, just ask people where they usually shop.

bru and target are both good. if there is a TJ Max or Marshalls in your area, check there for Boppy pillows, crib sets, and a lot of other things, they're much cheaper than bru and target.
congrats!

I likes Babies R Us alot, but where I live, theres only one I know of and Its not close to anyone that came, and apparently noone knows how to shop online or buy things you actually need, so very few people even looked at my registries. I got mostly Target stuff. I really loved the Target products too. Amazon has a nice selection as well. I guess my best baby registry suggestion would be Babies R Us. Have fun!

Quoting Alyce:

I have a book, Baby Bargains, that says that Target is really bad when it comes to returns. Did you have any trouble with that, Michelle?

target isnt good with returns without a receipt. if you dont have a gift receipt or anything you can only return 2 things per ID (so between you and hubby you could do 4 things) per year! its crazy! we did register at target but just because the crib/changing table set we wanted was there and we didnt put much else on our registry from target! The best baby registry is babies r us.. they were GREAT with returns. we could take it back to any R us store (so toys or babies) and get cash refund. I even took some of the target stuff there and returned it to them because they had the same products. I had a suprise baby shower that was thrown for me in california and I currently live in delaware so i had to return and re-buy a lot of stuff!

No I actually didn't with either baby registry. We had one problem on our wedding registry several years ago. But not with either of our two kids that we did registries with them much more recently.

Babies R Us is good. I also did one at Target. They are usually the easiest to access and use for the people getting you stuff. You can also start a registry online at Target and if you want to go in and add to it at the store you can. I ended up doing both for my son on the recommendation of some friends and as long as you don't ask for the same stuff on both registry that works too.
