In the Uk children go to preschool at the age of 3-4 and go into school aged 4-5.

to go a little more in depth with the first post....My daughter is 3 yrs old. just turned in Jan. She is extremely smart and loves to do activities. I also stay at home with my 1 yr old son. My daughter has been doing AWFUL things lately like pooping on her floor, spitting juice all over, throwing half a roll of toilet paper in the potty....all things she definatley knows better about. I think she is very bored and could use a preschool setting. However, there is one preschool that i know of in the area that would except a 3 yr old and they are stupid expensive. What resources do you think i could use to find a different one or somewhere that maybe able to find me a slot for low income household?

Kids probably need at least 1 year of preschool prior to kindergarten. I ended up putting my oldest in preschool when he was 3 since he loves to get out of the house and do different activities. He has 2 younger siblings so it was getting harder to make sure his needs were met.

Hi. I put my child in Pre-school when she was 4years old. It helped out a lot. I think 4 is a good age for Pre-school.

It's totally up to you. My son is 2 1/2 years old and he's going to a "My Buddy and Me" once a week for an hour and a half. I plan on signing him up for pre-school this fall. He'll be 3 years old by then. I'm enrolling my son because I think he could benefit from interacting with this peers.
Hope this helps a bit.

I wasn't going to put mine in preschool. My husband, our son's father, found a program specific to the group starting kindergarten in the fall, so we checked it out. Our son just loved it so he's going now. If you are comfortable with the program, and your child is okay with being away from you for half a day to all day, then go for it. I would say probably 3-4 is a good age.
