When the baby is asleep, what do you do?

I try to be quiet. But after the usual dishes and laundry, I read, surf the net, or scrapbook. Oh and eat!

Laundy, dishes, run the vacuum ( lucky my boy sleeps through all the noise). Sometimes I will sip coffee and check out what's on my DVR. But like right now I'm on the net when my guy is sleeping and I should be sleeping. If my husband is home and my boy is down I go run errands. So much easier when I do them alone. I want to start scrapbooking soon. My boy is trying too go from 2 naps a day to only 1 and I better start this scapbook soon or I will be to busy running after him.

I either take a shower, check emails, or clean up a little bit before I go take a nap with him.

I definitely get my shower in, then if time permits I get on Facebook and talk with old friends and new friends. :) A very good Mommy time.

Right now I sleep or rest when he is asleep since he is only 7 days old. When he sleeps thru the night I hope to use the time to read or just relax.

I used to work and clean and work and clean and work and clean. But then i felt totally burnt out and depressed by the time she would wake up. Then someone told me that I should completely spend every minute of naptime doing whatever the heck I wanted to refresh myself. So I started napping. Then I would feel like I never got anything done or had any time to myself. So I found a happy medium of doing a few things to "chill" and regroup in my own way, then do a few household productive things. Now I feel much more balanced...

I usually will put something in the crock pot for dinner during afternoon naps and then maybe cook something, clean, put away laundry, do some yoga or pilates, count the calories I have had that day, run on treadmill, do some homework, make beds, make to do lists and appointments for the week! :)

I nap or play with my other 2 kids or do cleaning if they are playing nicely with each other. With 3 kids 4 and under I need my sleep especially since my 3 month old isn't sleeping through the night yet.

After the kids go down is when I finally get some much needed alone time with my husband. Not to do what you might think lol Just to enjoy each others company and have conversations. Normally we only allow a certain amount of time talking about our boys, the we force ourselves to talk about other things. Its really really nice and I think much needed for most couples. Oh ya and lots of cleaning :)

I sleep if I'm feeling tired, clean / laundry / prep food etc or go online or phone calls when he sleeps. He has 2 naps but only 45 mins each so the time goes fast! At night it's sterilising, gardening, fold laundry, and then we rest for about an hour before going to bed. It's been great reading what everyone else does, you kinky minxes!! lol

Funny this conversation came because I've just been sitting back and thinking what do I normally do when baby sleeps. Well I tend to surf the net to catch up with the goings-on and then I have my shower, brush teeth, prepare his meals, watch tv.

What I find the worst thing I tend to do is worry about everything and anything. They say an idol minds the devils advocate.....I can't help but agree.

Well, I'm an aspiring romance novelist, so when my little girl is napping I usually work on my writing, or I read, or call a friend if I get really bored. And sometimes, if I didn't sleep well the night before or I'm sick, I take a nap of my own.

When my kids were asleep as babies, I would clean , wash, take a shower, call eople back or email them back, the list was endless. I wish I could have taken a nap. That's what everybody told me to do b/c you have to have energy when they wake up. LOL

My three month old daughter sleeps through the night. Since I have horrible insomnia, I use that time to catch up on the crap I can't do during the day. I've started writing again, which makes me feel all sorts of accomplished. During the day when she takes a nap, I take a nap with her.

clean house. mostly folding laundry that i can't do while my big boy is awake because he like to try to help by taking the clothes i've folded already and throwing them either off the bed or back into the basket. other than that it's dishes, sweeping up the mess from lunch, picking up toys, and occasionally i'll sit out on the porch and read the mail.

If your baby is young then sleep is a must to catch up on. No need to be quiet because the world outside isn't. You can do all the usual household chores whilst baby is awake. I found that the sooner I socialised with other kids my kids were as ease with them & confident within themselves, thats including adults too. Have fun don't stress if the dishes stay on the bench relax & be a happy parent:)

Clean! And if I'm done that, relax. Watch a show, talk on the phone, go online. I have 2 and the youngest is only 6 months so naptime for both isn't always at the same time but when it does, oh, it's great... :)

I do the dishes, clean up, do laundry. Sometimes I go on Facebook or watch a movie or take a shower. I try to get all of the chores finished first though, that way when he wakes up I can just play with my son and I don't have to clean or anything!
