my oldest son is 19 months old and is still in his crib, its on the lowest setting but i still feel like hes ganna climb out one night. i want to put him into a toddler bed but im not sure if its to early. he still wakes up at night once in a while, and im scared hes ganna get outta bed and hurt himself. is he to young for a toddler bed or is it the perfect time?

the gate at the door sounds like a good idea! thanks. and hes not climbing out yet, but he trys to climb in! lol, so i figured if he can do one he can most likely do the other!

My 23 mos dd is still in the crib, but she doesn't climb out so I figured she s on to stay there for a while.. For me its easier also cause I can put her in her crib and do what I need to do without thinking about her trying to pick up her 6 mos old sister when Im in the shower. lol

My daughter has a sleep sack- a wearable blanket- that's closed on the bottom. This makes it so she can't lift her feet high enough to climb out of her crib. If you move your son to a bed too early, I've heard that it's really hard to get a kid back into a crib. Maybe try a sleep sack or a crib tent?

i put my daughter in a toddler bed at 18 months... she just looked to big for a crib... my son was 2 and went to a single bed....

I put my 2 daughters and son in there toddler bed when they were able to walk and climb (around 13 or 14 months). My son is now 20 months old and sleeps in his toddler bed and does great. He has gotten up a few times but usually comes straight to our room and then I take him back to his bed and he goes straight to sleep. I just make sure all the doors are closed especially the bathroom so just in case he does get up he cant go anywhere but his room or mine.

I put my daughter in her toddler bed at 2 yrs old.. I have a baby gate at her door so she cant go out of her room if she wakes up...SHe loves it and doesnt fall out of it...Good Luck...

He is not too young. If it makes you feel better wait until he is two. Generally that is the best age. If he able to climb and stand up in the crib, you definently need to take him out of the crib and put him in a toddler bed. He will hurt himself more falling out of the crib then he would getting out of bed. When I put my son in his bed for the first time trust me I was soo worried. And yes he did get out of bed a couple times but if you baby proof his room and get a child proof protector on the door knob he cant open it and get out of the room. Its best that he is not able to roam the entire house. Its a big step but trust me the crib is more dangerous for him then the bed if he is capable of climbing out of the crib. Hope this helps!
