I had horrible tearing with my first and then stung for about 2-3 weeks. Did the hospital send home a water bottle to use when you use the bathroom? Squirt yourself as you are peeing so the urine is diluted and won't sting your stitches. And keep saying to yourself..."This too shall pass."

i used lukewarm water in the squeeze bottle and had water running on the stitches the whole time i was weeing

Mine stung for about 2 weeks but what helped me a bit was if I needed a wee when I was going in the bath I just weed there as it didn't sting as much lol! Puring some cool water over after weeing helps too.

It took me about 3 weeks to stop stinging, but was still really sore for about 7 weeks. I was just very uncomfortable, and although about a week after my baby was born I could fit back into my jeans, I couldnt wear them for about 8 weeks because it hurt down there to have them on. It will get better, enjoy your little blessing :)

Besides the peri-bottle, also try witch hazel pads. They are sold hemroid (sp?) use, and are called Tucks. The witch hazel takes the sting out and reduces inflammation. I would always make sure to wipe with one after toilet paper, it helped tremendously!

Didn't you get a peri-bottle from the hospital. I tore with my first two and had stitches with both. A peri bottle is just a soft bottle with a nozzle on top (looks just like a sports bottle, but soft so you can squeeze it) Go get one. Fill with cold water and as you pee squirt it at where you have the stitches. It is cooling and dilutes the urine. It will make peeing less scary and more comfortable :) Sorry it is gonna hurt for another week or two.

Try holding a clean pad or wad of toilet paper over the area while you are actually weeing - helps stop wee running over your stitches. Also sticking an icepack down there for a few mins before going helps too - make the area numb!

It took me about 2-4 weeks. I had lots of them because I tore from front to back thanks to by little guys shoulder. Did they give you the little tub to soak in and tucks hemroid pads to soothe the area? if not speak to your ob. I know it helped me.

after i had my boys, it usually took bout 2 or 3 weeks to start feeling normal again down there and for it not to hurt so bad. Good luck and hang in there.
