I am in the process of buying a baby gate for my daughter, however there's so many choices, shapes and colors that it makes very difficult to chose. I was looking for a bottom of the stairs baby gate (don't know if a top one is necessary or just one will suffice?)...Any suggestions ladies? :)

It is best to get a gate that has straight bars if you have a climber. As the grid/lattice gates can make it easy for a climber to get out.

I haven't got one but they have them at Target and i'd say top and bottom.

Only with smaller extensions. It can be either a pressure or a mounted gate. It takes some dexterity to open, which is good.

The ones we have used are the kind that you pull out to make them bigger to fit the area you want and then they suction to the wall on either side. You could also have them mounted to the wall and then they swing open. They work fairly well.
A suggestion I have is don't put one at the top of the stairs. If your daughter ends up running into it, it could end up falling. This happened a couple of times with my son and he ended up falling down the stairs. Lucky he was fine. Babies easily bounce back, but you never know what could happen. It's just best to block off a room at one end and at the other with a second one so she can't get to the stairs. Hope this helps.
