My son is also having a hard time going poo in the potty, he is perfectly capable of going pee and does it all the time, we don't have accidents day or night. I read an article about fear some children get of actual bowl movement-it said you now have to go slow at it. They suggested talking to your child about the right place to go to the bathroom-which means when they know they need to go they have to position themself in the bathroom. Yes, it does still mean he is going in his pants but he is understanding that the bathroom is an appropriate place for privacy. Then you would move on to him sitting in the toilet-yes with his pants on. It sounds crazy, but my son is terrified of the sight of his poop and this is a better option for us then having him get constipated because he is holding it in fear he will get punished. Be consistent and try to not send mixed messages on the true natural aspect of it. I know it's hard and I feel your frustration, Good Luck

I didn't have any trouble potty training... when i was done wiping his ass, I was done. I stopped buying diapers and went to the store and bought big boy underwear to get him excited about underwear. when we got home he put his underpants on and I told him if he pees he will get a spanking and if he poos in his pants he will have to clean then out...I stuck it out was consistent and did exactly what i said i would do and I think he got maybe 2 or 3 spankings and had to wash his underwear 1 once and it was all over. Arthur was potty trained during the day and night at 2 1/2 years old.

I have all boys and they were so hard to train. The best advice I have for you is to just let them decide on their own to go. When they are ready they will go. I have found that the more I force mine when they are not ready, the more they pull back and don't want anything to do with the potty. Good luck...potty training is one of the hardest things I have faced in motherhood!

I have 2 boys....I let them run around with just a t shirt on. The potty was in the living room where we spent most of our time. Each one had a move that they did when they had to go....when I would see them squirm I'd say "don't potty on mommy's floor, hurry run to the potty"......each one only took two weeks to train and we just did pull ups at night. this saved tons of money for diapers and pull ups. After about 3 weeks we moved the potty to the restroom.
