My daughter has slept with us for 13 months. We want her to start sleeping in her crib. She will nap during the day in it but when we put her down at night she wakes up after an hour or so. Any suggestions on how to help her adjust. I WILL NOT let her "cry it out"

I agree with the Super Nanny approach!!!! Works wonders, but you have to be strong :-)

i saw an episode of The Supper Nanny that had a lil boy like your daughter that wouldn't sleep in his crib and like Kelly mentioned, she showed the mom how to work the "inch-out of the room" method. I just wish I had seen that when we had our daughter in our bed. She slept with us until she was 4! It took me getting pregnant with her sister and my belly growing to big for her to fit b4 she went to her own bed.

Well, my suggestion to possibly try would be, when she does wake up crying try getting up and getting her back to sleep then once she's out again put her back in her crib. I know it may be tiring but maybe try being repetitive and try not to give in (believe me I know all about giving in when we're tired: IM GUILTY)! Maybe she will grasp that its the way she should sleep and that its a big girl bed.

I have a daughter who will be 2 on april 4th. We had the same problem. My husband put her in her crib & she would cry for only a little while. I felt the same about the cry it out routine because i wanted to go to her when she was crying but he was right. it only lasted 2 nights and now she's been sleeping in her crib real well ever since. There is the method i heard of about trying to put them in the crib & slowly work your way out of the room. Keeping the same routine seems to help too. the bath, story, & bed so she'd be more relaxed. Then everyone should be able to have a better nights sleep! I know we do again!
