My little boy will be 6 months on April 2. I started him on rice cereal Feb 21, followed by oatmeal cereal, then started the first stage heinz veggies I believe it was March 5, followed by the first stage heinz fruits. As of today we have been through the first veggies/fruits (allowing 3 days between each new one). He showed all signs of being ready for solids and took to it all really really well. He loves it all except for the rice cereal so I only give him the oatmeal.
He gets 24-30 oz of formula/day. I give him 2 tbsp of the oatmeal cereal in the morning with a 6 oz bottle. I give him 2 tbsp of a veggie in the afternoon with a 4 oz bottle and then a tbsp of a fruit late afternoon (5pm ish) with a 4 oz bottle. He has a bottle in between and a bottle at bedtime.
Im not sure his weight yet (he gets weighed on Friday at his 6 month check up) but I know he is over 18lbs! He is a big boy, but a healthy one. I always get comments on how big he is, however I don't think he is abnormally big. His daddy was a VERY large baby, weighing 22lbs at 3 months strictly BF. I think he just has some of his genes lol. If I feed him less he would be hungry. I feel im feeding him proper but just want to hear what others are doing etc!
Thanks :)
