I just ran across Barefoot Books. You can join for free. You get the same benefits as many of the "party plans" in that you can sell the books and make 20-40%. If someone else signs up under you, you also earn part of their commission. You get your own website to advertise so that people can buy online from you.
check out http://nancy-sasser.barefootbooks.com
Good luck!

I have a friend that writes for Ehow.com. It's another way to make a little extra money.

I too have been a victim of trying a lot of those pyramid schemes and they don't work. Now I work for ChaCha. I've been working in this now for 5 months and love it.
Not a get rich quick job or business, make about $300 a month or more depending on the hours you put in. You can work anytime, anywhere you have internet access, 365 days a year.
If interested here is the info.
ChaCha is seeking smart, savvy people, for a fun and flexible role helping find answers to wide-ranging (sometimes irreverent) questions. Just enter my email address kjaspers@ymail.com in the referral box on your application. Sign up today at http://becomeaguide.chacha.com !
This is 100% legit and you don't pay anything to be hired. You get paid for all your work just guiding text message questions.

I wouldn't recommend working online. Most are scams. You should never have to pay someone to hire you. Some are what is called a ponzi scam where you pay them to "work" and then your job is to convince other people to pay to "work" in order to get your money back etc. in the end the only person who makes money is the guy at the top of the pyramid (most likely not a stay at home mom) sorry, i entertained the idea myself but when i looked it up i realized it was not such a great idea. My friend did start her own website though in the city we live for moms and events for children around the city, posting ads for play groups, pre-schools, sports programs etc She actually makes alot of money by collecting advertising fees for companies to advertise on her website. She just won an award for best entrepreneur at a woman's business conference.

Do a Multilevel marketing business where you can sell enough first to join. Tupperware works that way.
