Problems with my kids getting along.

I'm about ready to scream on a regular basis with the constant bickering and nagging with my kids. One is my 14 year old SS and the other is my 16 year old "foster" daughter.

My foster daughter is actually a cadet friend of my SS. Long story short, her situation was less than ideal, so she called me and moved in 2 weeks ago.

This is obvioulsy an adjustment for the entire family and certain things I expected, but these two bicker as though they we real, honest to god brother and sister.... any thoughts on how I gain a little peace in my home? With my ss's counselling, my business, dealing with the crazy ex wife, my husband having 2 jobs, cadets, cooking, cleaning and all that goes along with being a parent, at the end of the day, I just want a little peace and quiet and not have to listen to the constant blah blah blah of two teenagers.

Discipline? Start taking things away, like "If you two don't stop right now, no video games for the next two nights" Or "The next one that starts a fight isn't getting any TV time for a week" Or "If I don't start to see an improvement then you're not going to the next school dance". I would have a talk with them about respecting each other, and tell them what you expect of them that way when they are punished they can't say they didn't know any better. Also, when they do stop fighting so much try taking them out for ice cream and tell them you wanted to give them a treat for making such an effort to get along. (Insert things to reward or punish as you see fit). That's my best advise. Good luck :)
