I am having trouble with my 7 year old stepdaughter wetting the bed. We make her go to the restroom before she goes to bed and i wake her once during the night. Yet at some point she pees again. She wears pull ups but I want her to be able to sleep over at a friends and not have to be embarrased of wetting in her sleep or haveing to wear a pull up. Any suggestions?

First off I would like to say...Thank you for all you responses. I truely appreciate it.

We have talked with her mother and she actually lets it go more than we do. We have a plastic cover for her bed now. So that has helped..Alot. And I will have to look into those pull-ups.

And really ya'll thanks again.

My step daughter also went through that stage around that age. I don't have any suggestions but want you to know you aren't alone! Those pull ups that look shorts might work well for overnights

Hi I have 4 kids and 4 step and 1 of my tep kids and 3 of mine all wet the bed. It is very frustrating, believe me I know. With my step son I used to make him wash his bedding and then remake his bed, and im now doing that with my eldest, but the others I just let them go. I have had tests, tried the alarm mat, tried the pull-ups, tried the stop drinking , tried the no dairy after 6pm tried the getting them up through the night, tried the medication in the end it is so much better to let them go, accept that they wet and they will grow out of it eventually. In my family it is a hereditry thing, the hormone in your body that tells you to stop producing urine at night doesnt kick in, they need to develop that habbit themselves. So maybe have a look at the family history did others wet? I only discovered this cause when I was studing nursing, my doctor didnt tell me so wasnt i annoyed with him. thats when wwe tried the meds they worked the best but I just didnt like the kids on meds all the time. I got plastic bed covers and wash everyday. I dont stress over it anymore. good luck I hope this helped

If not doing so already, ... and if possible, Try Corresponding with her mother,... does she live with you ? if not, ask the Bio mom what they do. it may just be confusing if the 2 families are using different techniques.
