I have tried to finish school 3 times and it has never worked with having kids. I asked my mom how she went to school and dealt with having 3 kids. She told me that when she did her school work was when we did our homework. Of course she waited to go back till we were in school. I have found that being a stay at home mom has been easier for me to go back to school. I will be starting back the end of this month. I have a 9 month old at home and will be doing online classes. The only way I can see this working is because I have her on a schedule. She wakes, eats, naps, bathes, and goes to bed at the same time everyday. It has taken me the past 3 months to get her to into this schedule. I hope that someday she will get to see her mom get her degree. Wish me luck. It's about to be a tough 3 years.

I did my associate's online. It was a long two years. I began when I was pregnant with my second and finished when I was (still am) pregnant with my third. I worked full-time during most of that time. I did my work at night when the house was quiet. I couldn't do it during the day. Needless to say, I didn't sleep much. I didn't get traditional breaks either (Spring Break, Thanksgiving, Summer, etc). I will start school again this Fall but this time at a traditional college. I've gotten my schedule and have determined that I won't be able to to work... not if I expect to see my kids and bond with my new baby. My husband is in school too. I wonder how we'll do it. I'm just glad that I'm even able to entertain the idea of not working. I switched to a traditional college because it's the only way I'm able to get certified as a teacher in IN. There are no approved online schools I can attend that will give me what I need.

It is going to be tough!!! I waited until my youngest was in Pre-school at 3 years old, and then I just went for it full-force!! I took 5 classes every semester and was able to finish in a year and a half (I already had my 2-year degree) and trust me I wanted to quit everyday!! However, I stuck with it, and will now be graduating this Fall!! Good luck! It is do-able!!!
