Starting Online School

I am going to start school on line next month and I have a new born. I think that its good that u r going to school and also taking care of ur baby.

I am a mom of 2, a 5yr old and an 8yr old. I have been taking online course through my local college for a year and a half now. I'm almost done! I find it easier to study when the kids are at school, outside playing, or are in bed. Sometimes I'll pop popcorn throw in a movie and go to my bedroom to study while they watch the movie. For online classes you must be a disciplined person because sometimes things can get you distracted and you walk away from the computer and not come back until 2days later. With you having little ones nap time would be the best time for you to study as well as bed time or when your SO comes home and he can grab the children. With that said good luck!

congrats!!! I am doing fulltime online school for my psychology associate. Make time on nap times :)

I also do online school. The best thing that worked for me is to make myself a schedule and do certain things certain days, this is to include a cleaning schedule, so I can manage everything. I save all of my homework for after the kids lay down for the most part. If it's something little that I can get through without an issue I will do it while they are eating breakfast or lunch, or during nap time. And then with the cleaning, I do the regular vacuuming, dishes, toys etc everyday, but I schedule all of the big things around my school work, and only do one big thing a day i.e. laundry day, bathroom day, mopping etc. Writing it down was the easiest thing for me to do at first, and then after that I got the hang of it. Now I've been doing it for 3 years and manage it pretty well with two kids, two dogs, a cat and a husband in the army lol.

I would suggest going full-time. Get it out the way as soon as possible. Get the kids on a schedule, taking regular naps and bedtimes because you'll be getting most of your work done while they are sleep.

I am working towards my ECE degree as well. So far it has been pretty good. In other words I am teaching myself how to stay up late lol.

Online schooling is amazing; I"m taking my ECE Diploma on line, managing my two kids. I'm studying part time because honestly with the energey I have left at the end of the day I don't think i can take any more than 3 courses at a time. This way, I can still work, do daycare and keep the focus on the kids. its a very fulfilling, lifestyle. My kids aer so proud of me and my four year makes sure I get my homework done. I get to see my kids every day I'm not too burnt out fom working a dead end job and I'm working towards a future for the three of us.

Online schools are actually a lot easier to manage I think. Although I didnt try a public college. Right now I only have my 2 yr old and 1 on the way, but I usually find the time to do my work during naptime and when he goes to bed at night. Or on nights that my husband has off, I'll try to get up before my son and get some work done.

Start out slow! Part time is a great way to start if your not sure about your schedule yet! I have a 1 y/o and he takes up ALL of my time!! Thank heaven for naps or my house would be a disaster!! Lol, I do most of my work when he goes to sleep at night (Im a full time student and have been since the fall) I love my online classes!!! I also post all of my assignments on a calender in my office so I know what all is coming up!! Organization is the key :) Good luck!!!
