Studying a degree while preggers

I agree it is hard. I have been in college for 2 years while trying to raise my now 5 year old and just had another child. He is 8 weeks old and I plan on going back in July when the next term starts. I just keep telling myself that I am doing this for them so I will be able to get a better job and take better care of them financialy. Plus it may drive them to do good in school if we are both studying. My daughter already worries about getting A's on her homework because I do the same thing. I beleive if you have a good support system and help when you need it that everyhting is doable.

I have been a student most of my life, now - or so it seems! I went to college while pregnant and have continued to work on a degree for 10 years off-and-on with two kids. The best thing I can suggest for you is to keep a great line of open communication between you and your professors - online or classroom - and keep them updated in the case you need rest or a sick day, etc. The more factual you are regarding your condition, the more understanding most schools are.

Also, it is good to continue your education for the sake of being a positive role model to your child! I wish I had been able to complete mine a long time ago, but life does get in the way and you just go with the flow. Online is definitely a great way to go, but I would suggest taking one class on a campus every once in a while so you can interact with other adults and maybe even meet other moms in your position, if that is something that appeals to you.

I am actually studying from home which is probably better for me in my condition anyway. One thing that keeps me going is the thought that I will be a good role model for my baby. She will see me as educated and hopefully with a great job, fingers crossed.

I agree it is not fun being pregnant while in college. and it doesnt get any better after the baby is born. but I believe if you go to a good college that understands and a good support system at home, then there is no reason why we can not complete our degrees. I hope that you are at a better college than me, I am currently trying to find a new college because I just cant deal with their crap at my current one especially when I have a 9 month son to take care of when I get home. good luck!
