What does your husband think?

I really want to be a surrogate, but my husband isn't very certain about it. I can't get him to really sit still long enough to give me a clear answer as to what he's uncertain about (his work has been crazy recently). He did ask if there's some sort of info for the surrogate's spouse, I guess like a support group. So I guess what I'm wondering is: how does this affect my spouse? Did anyone else have a spouse who was initially uncertain? I want to get this process started soon so I can be pregnant by Christmas, so I need to get some answers for him. Thanks for any input.

first of all yes there is a place he can go to get more info. www.surrogatemother.com also what kind of surrogacy are you going to do? traditional= your egg +donor/father sperm or gestational =intended mothers egg +donor/father sperm then implanted in you? also there is alot of fear there and possably some jelousy and sence of loss mixed in but he dosnt know how to describe what hes feeling cuz hes a guy! O.o check out the site and make sure you tell him how important it is to you!

i just applied to be a traditional surrogate...my husband is really supportive

My husband is great with me surrogating, but then both of us are at a mutual decision that we are done with our own family. Try writing down a list of possible things he might be uncertain about (Is he worried about something happening to you during the surrogacy? Is he concerned he would be attached to the baby?) and just ask about them one or two at a time as he has time. Support groups are also an excellent resource where he can connect with other guys in the same boat.
