how do you keep your 1-year-old occupied during bath time? clearly, the pthalate-laden rubber ducky of yesteryear is frighteningly out of the question. sources for non-toxic bathtime fun???

Lightweight enamelware cups (like the kind cowboys would drink out of in front of the campfire), are a great non-breakable alternative to plastic for the bathtub. Basically, anything that won't get ruined if you put it in the water makes a great bath toy for kids. ;-)

Boon brand ducks and bath toys are excellent, you may have to Google a boon supplier in your area.

Hi Bethany!
I have stopped shopping at places like Wal-Mart, Target, etc that carries mostly toys made in China. I shop for toys on-line at stores that carry mostly toys made in Europe or Canada where the regulations are more strict. You can do a google seach for safe toys or "green" toys. I also shop at a local store in my area called Imagination Toys. They sell lots of toys that don't require batteries which I love and again most are made in Germany or Canada.
