Right now my son Aedan is 7 months old. He has just recently started to get into EVERYTHING. No matter how much I clean it seems like he still finds something to put in his mouth. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can child-proof my home effectively and without having to spend a ton of money?

You think its bad now, wait til he starts walking. & realizing that he can climb. my son was a climber even before he started walking. I just try to keep things picked up the best i can. and im constantly vaccuming the floors, and sweeping them. Just keep a constant eye on him the best you can. Cause no matter how much you clean, it doesnt seem like it makes a difference. My house is spotless, and people always tell me that my kitchen is so clean you could probably eat of my floors. but yet my 16 month old still finds something hes not supposed to be playing with. But this is a quick warning . as soon as you notice your son is trying to climb on things, instantly try to break him of it. Cause each day, they get better and better at it. i turn my head for one second and look back at my son, and hes up in a chair trying to reach stuff on my table. He's getting better though. but i think its harder to break them of it when their older, rather then when they are younger.

Goodluck :)

you can get the cabinet door holders to hold them shut, and the little plastic things you plug into the outlets so he cant get electricuted, go to walmart in the baby section and there will be alot of things you can use to keep him protected, they arent that expensive maybe like $3 or so. good luck! :)

My public health nurse that comes to see my son and i told me that if i didnt feel like child proofing the ENTIRE house i could pick a room or 2 to contain him and gate him out of the rest or just close the doors. She then said to get down on my hands and knees and see it from his view, cabinets, drawers, electrical sockets, anything like that you need to buy a cover or locks for. I'm about to child proof. I have everything i just need to get down and look for things.

Honestly its about impossible to completely child proof a room. My daghter gets into everything. I think even if I trapped her in a giant plastic bubble she'd still find something to get into. You just have to always keep your eyes on him.
