Well I just found out I'm pregnant with my second child. I'm very excited but have questions. My first baby was a premature and I'm worried that this baby could be premature? If anyone has any input, would be much help. Thank you!

hello, your health professionals will keep a close eye on you due to your first child being premature not all parents that have a premature baby will have another but the doctors like to make sure that you are health and the baby is safe just for that little chance that the baby may be born premature.

good luck

hi i had a prem baby born at 26 weeks due to pre eclampsia, i was scared still about having another, but after 5 years we tried again, and Sam was born at 39 weeks (planned section) I was monitored much more closely the second time and all was fine. How is your first? Mines now nearly 6 and tiny but fantastic. Good luck x

Hi, my first baby was also premature (15 weeks) and am on my second pregnancy, have been told that i have a 20% chance of having another, but my midwife is keeping a close eye on me, i see her every 3 weeks and i am also monitered by the consultants at my local hos. Have been told to take it easy and rest as much as possible.
Dont know what your situation was but the docs dont know why i gave birth so early, which means its harder to say wether i will have another or not. if your midwife is any good then she will give you all the advice you need and keep a close eye on you, she should also refer you to the specialist consultants at your local hos x
hope this helps a little x

My mom had a full term baby, then a premature baby, and then another full term baby. My friend had a premature baby and another premature baby. My sister-in-law had a premature baby and then a full term baby. So it just might depend on your body or you baby's body. I think you will be find if you have taken care of yourself in between you pregnancies.
