Hey you're just about the same as me! I have no friends that have children. And it is very hard. Talk to me whenever you want about whatever you want! It would be great to have a fellow 17 year old more to talk to!

I got pregnant with my daughter when I was 16 and had her when I was 17. Honestly I was terrified because I had never been around babies. But everything came natural to me. Now she is 14 months and it has only got better. The firdt few months was a little hard because she didnt sleep thru the night and the feedings but around the 5th or 6th months everything evens out anad slows down. You will do great!!

I was 16 when i found out i was pregnant and delivered 2 weeks after my 17th birthday and had NO friends with kids so it was hard but i got out into my community where they have lots of classes for young mothers. Check out around your town and see if they have anything like that it can be really nice to know some other moms your age :)

I was 17 when i had my son and 4months away from graduating highschool. Like everyone else it was hard but i got through it. Everyday was a struggle. There were times when i wanted to just cry and stay in bed but i knew i had a responsiblity because this baby did not ask to be here. I am now 23 i just graduated from college in december with a bachelor's degree in Mass communications with a concentration in Broadcasting. All i can say to you is never give up, because you have someone to live for. Set some obtainable goals, keep positive persons in your corner and you will be alright. God bless

I was about your age when I had my 1st child. It was rough and complicated to even think of how my father would react to finding out. But when it was all said and done he loved his grand baby. It always helps to be involved in your high school parenting classes, what ever you do don't drop out of school! Yeah you might get talked about from the other kids in school just brush them off your shoulders...Good Luck!

Hello Kassie.

I know how it feels to be alone! I was 15 when I found out I was pregnant and 16 when I had my son. Im 19 now, living on my own, full time student and working full time. The dad is merely involved. Any questions or just need someone to talk to let me know! :)

Sharee... I felt the same way. I would not even let my mother go into the doctors office with me and I was 17 now 18. I went in by myself. I know it must be hard. All you can really do is let her know you are there when she needs you do not push she subject or she may get agitated. Commend her on how she is independent because there are a lot of mothers out there that are not. I think it is a wonderful thing that she wants to do it on her own. It is a lot better than what my mother is going through with my 25 year old sister, my mother is raising her two children. Just make sure you let her know she is not alone but do not say it to much lol.

hey!!!...i was in the same situation....i had my son when i was 17....i'm nearly 20 now!

none of my friends had kids...so it was hard for me...but it's good that you have 2 friends with children already! =D i know it's goin to be hard for you as it's hard for every first time mum..especially because your young...you will get a lot of smart ass ppl...but don't let their remarks get to you...because honestly i believe that having a child shouldn't matter wat ur age is....it's weither or not mentally you are mature enough!

soo where do you live? did you stay in school? are you still with the baby's dad? feel free to add me if you wanna chat!

Hi Kassie, I'm not a young mum, but my daughter who is 17 1/2 has just told me she is pregnant. So I'm trying to come to terms with this atm. I want to be there and support her but she seems to want to do it on her own. Is this how you felt? I have a close relationship with my 2 girls.

You are taking the right steps into becoming a mommy seek helpful advice and do not listen to critics that say stuff about us young mothers. I was 17 as well 18 now and I am so happy you have decided to go through with the pregnancy I commend you greatly! You are in for the most amazing thing in life. I would love for you to talk to me about any struggles and in all seriousness we can talk on the phone I live in FL. I myself have NO friends at all. I pray the best of luck with you Kassie. I would love to be encouraging to you. As I get older I would love to help younger mothers in any way that I can. I promise there will be nothing but positivity coming from me! I would love to hear your story and hear about the birth of your baby when the time comes!
