Okay well im 18 with soon to be 3 children. I have a wonderful fiance who is 24, but its tough when he works in the oil patch doing trucking 7 days on and 3 days off.
He works 2 1/2 hours away from where we are currently living so he stays down there for the 7 days then comes back home for the 3 days.
If we were to move up there we are completely away from all family, but if we did happen to move he works such long days we still hardly ever see him.
He is up and out the door by 6:00am, so he can be at work by 7:00am and then works for at least 14 hours a day if not more bringing it till at least 10 or 11pm till he gets home and then by then he just wants to go to bed.
Yes he spends all the time with us on his days off and the money is great! But the kids and i are both finding it so hard always having him gone.
Im just wondering if there is any other moms out there in the same situation?

My fiance is, typically, an OTR truck driver. Her is currently working in a restaurant so he can be close to home with our daughter and I in her first year of life. He may have to go back to the truck sooner, though, because we need the money. It's nice to have him around, so I will miss him a lot when he is gone. Congrats on the baby, and I am sorry to both of you for the difficulties associated with being a trucker's wife/GF/fiance.

I know! My fiance' is an over the road truck driver and just recently has been able to come home every weekend for 34 hours. It's tough for everyone, but you're right the money is pretty good. I just try to be as supportive as I can be. I only have my two year old, but it's tricky without much help during the week. My daughter looks at the big trucks on the road and immediately starts saying daddy. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
